I started reading this when I was in high school and thought it was cute and now as a teacher I find this so disturbing Masahiro looks and acts like a kid and I can't see why a grown adult would be attracted to that unless they are a pedophile. Man, I always tried to fool myself into ignoring the age gap but I just can't anymore, these last updates made me feel gross.
And I can't help to feel like Masahiro is mature in many aspects, but emotionally immature like any other teenager. He's being treated as a housewife (in Kousuke's words, even) and does everything around the house, while his grown ass adult "boyfriend" relies almost entirely on him. Masahiro even works more, given that he has/had a job, he's a student and he tends to everyone else in the house + his friends.
I feel like it's not going anywhere anymore. At the beginning I hoped the author will make Masahiro grow up quickly and show them dating as adults to make it more palatable, but he's not even in his last year yet.
Kousuke is just a pedo, plain and simple. I'm getting older myself and I know that I have almost nothing in common with high school students, not even to be their friend (unless I'm an advisor, or they're the children of friends of mine and they look up to me).

I’m not gonna comment on the red flags that have always been in this story that require heavy doses of suspension of disbelief, I just wanted to say smth i always found funny. That being, it’s teased somewhat carelessly whether the detective guy actually cares about his friend’s grooming a little boy or not, but what really gets me is the fact that iirc, they straight up “test him” to make sure he won’t report the fact that he’s getting statutorily raped by kousuke . Like if you’re gonna make an unethical fictional age gap romance, at least stop reminding ppl of the fact that you know it’s wrong??? Self-awareness is NOT the kind of look you wanna be going for when you do it so half-assedly (by trying to play it off and writing any personal sentiments into the characters as a stand in) and for the sake of (I assume) deflecting criticism. At least have the integrity and balls to be properly honest about what the story is or don’t mention it at all. Having a character expressly question the actions of the ML but not actually have him face the consequences and take accountability for it just means it’s a pointless plot point that just serves to add drama. It serves no narrative function (in terms of character development) other than make-up rape (i don’t really consider it sex tbh that man is like 30 ☠) and padding out chapters. Again, I don’t want to go into yapping anyone’s eyes out but I still think its so funny to ‘test’ a minor and be like “but you won’t tell anyone, right?”
Last little side note: The beginning 2 volumes were so wild… (so was the whole series but) Kousuke behavior is so crazy bc why is this grown ass man gatekeep girlboss GASLIGHTING a teenager into believing he’s in love with him like brother has NOTHING better to do. As I’ve gotten older, it’s become kind of a turn-off that a man that age is THAT emotionally immature, and don’t get me wrong, I like my men ***pathetic***

there is absolutely no need to draw explicit rape scenes over and over and over and over and over again. this author is sick in the head, all their boot licking fans as well. the author is basically completing a checklist atp. plot can exist and keep itself well afloat without the unnecessary and disgusting scenes. and I bet there's more shots of geom's traumatizing past than actual scenes dedicated towards the development and progression of the story too.

First the environment they were in, all the people around them said it's only natural with girls, some even said it was disgusting even to hold hands. Growing up in that kind of surrounding grows a fear in you and he loved his best friend the one person who he didn't want to hate him.

And we all know that if not for the handsome characters, and mostly the art bringing it, you fans of such would be there wanting to wash your eyes clean and a refund for your wasted time - just like for Pocket n°7. And before invoking Hannibal Lecter... Classic movies like Silence of the Lambs, Saw or series like Dexter have a moral dimension to them and a MESSAGE to convey while they can display the most gruesome scenes. There's injustice, crimes but also RETRIBUTIONS. Punishment. The criminals pay their crimes by losing their lives or being sentenced to prison. The spectators bear the movie till the end bc they know the outcome of such actions. This makes the movie, book... digestible and bearable.
In this case of Reverse Thinking, message is nonexistent. There's no retribution nor redemption, only harm. Any reader who was expecting something is left hopeless and drained. It feels like a mental assault.

Don't give the excuse that all this brutality and g/rape is fictional, therefore we should let it a pass for everything. Litterature and art, science, start with an idea and concept, but have the power to move societies and influence the world. We know that for some people, Star Wars has become a religion and philosophy. Some genius writers are deified... So words and imaginery can have huge impacts on people's mind and actions, for the best or the worse. However depending on the situation the aspect 'fiction' is either willingly omitted, or brought up as justification bc you porn consumers have no other reason as to why you can enjoy this type of thing.
I personally don't have issue reading controversial stories involving sa, rape or violence, simply bc yaoi is populated by these books. I, though, have issues regarding that kind of show and poorly written plots ; the absolute absence of retribution for the perpetrators.

What a major POS. He's def the type to one day murder his spouse in a crime of passion. Girl, get out of there. This was a mid-ass manga about a boring ass couple, saved only by the well-written female chatacter. Poor thing is stuck in a mediocre manga surrounded by mediocre men.

Sakuraba is the cliche of the closeted man with internalized (might not be so internalized) misogyny and homophobia, he goes from being scared to be seen as “abnormal” to showing his feelings and being vulnerable little by little. i’m not saying he wasn’t trash at first because that would be lying, he was a playboy with little to no regards for the women he dated (then again he’s a misogynistic), we can see that this come from how he was educated which isn’t a justification but an explanation. He sees Asami as unmanly (such a weird word) and is repulsed by his own attraction to him due to his internalized homophobia. at the end of the manga, not only does he tell asami he loves him but he also shows improvement in his behavior (crying in front of asami, learning how to cook which is often seen as a “woman hobby” etc…). the end is an amorce to a more honest future for them both.
now there’s some think I didn’t quite like and I think we’re unnecessary: the cheating plot wasn’t needed at all… I think it goes against Asami’s straight forward way of acting and doesn’t really match his character when you know he was aware of his chef having a wife. The ex is really disappointing as well and doesn’t deserve his wife… lastly I didn’t like the moment when Asami was telling Sakuraba about how he didn’t wanted to be treated like a woman (he said smth along the lines of “I won’t laugh or be happy if you pay the bill and hold the door for me like a woman would), honestly pretty weird if you ask me, women aren’t just simple being who needs things to be paid for and door to be help open for them to be happy, and reducing them to that is meh… wish the author would have developed deeper into the misogynistic aspect of the story.

Aight first off she is in no way obligated to show respect to this guy. She didn't know him and to top it off she found out that he was stalking her. she's not a "bitch" for not wanting to go or for burning that creepy ass notebook.
