    nixks August 3, 2019 11:01 am

Its not necessary for this story, but overall i recommend reading it as it is one of the best bl of all time. Trust me.

tbh at the beginning i didn't care about what haesoo puts himself with Joowon idc toxic or abusive relationship bc he knew it he knew what he puts himself through (or at least he understands part of it) and he started realizing it more and more as he goes deeper with taku , but the die scene now... nah i think im done

Wdym? I didn't see that part, where was it? Btw, at this point sleep sex is fine unless it upsets Hosik, they're married and in love so it seems fine.

That's still non consensual though ie rape.

Do you even know what rape is? Rape causes emotional and physical damage and is a terrible thing. Being in a relationship is different from being forced. Having sex with your partner while they're sleeping isn't rape.

The laws says different. Non consensual sex within a marriage is still a crime. Rape can have trauma, it might not, it still doesn't blur the lines between what is consensual. Sticking your dick into your sleeping spouse is still non consensual.

    Three things to say here:

    1. If we're going by the definition of rape, yes and no, this COULD be considered rape depending on how you look at it. On one hand they can't consent, but on the other hand there should be trust between partners and a lot of people are fine waking up to sex with their s/o BECAUSE they love them and trust them, in other words they consented already. I'd argue that the definition is besides the point as it'll only be used in court, if this isn't a rape, i.e. the person was okay with waking up to sex, they won't take you to court so... No use in saying "but the definition".

    2. Lets all ignore the strawman and set things straight, obviously raping your spouse is still rape, but sleeping with your spouse while they're asleep is only crossing a line if they don't want it. While in a relationship you're granted privileges, assuming your partner wants your advances till they say otherwise is one of them. There is an obvious difference between sleeping with your s/o while they're asleep and sleeping with a random person while they're asleep, there is no trust with a stranger, no bond.

    3. If your point is to try and say "It's still rape because it matches the definition" while also acknowledging that the person isn't suffering any of the symptoms of actually being raped, you're just arguing a useless argument, it's just semantics. It's like saying me flicking someone is assault because i'm exerting physical force on them, i mean yeah, but who cares because reality is different. Yes, it is rape by definition, but who cares since the person was okay with it and wont press charges? A lot of things are TECHNICALLY a lot of things.

Side note: if you wake up and aren't okay with what happened, yes it's rape and depending on the severity of the situation your reaction will be anywhere between running to the police/trying to get away to calmly telling your boyfriend/girlfriend that you aren't comfortable with sleep sex on you and talking it out. There is a lot of nuance here, it's case specific, but most people in my experience are automatically okay with their s/o initiating sleep sex.

Sorry, but no. Just because you are in a relationship with someone, doesn't give you entitlement to have sexual contact with them when they are asleep. It's non consensual and could be classed as rape or assault. Having sex with a sleeping, unaware body isn't on, it's still using the same exploitation and selfishness seen in most rape cases. Most rape and assault cases go unreported, and until mid-way in the 20th century it was still legal in many countries for men to rape their wives, due to such biblical entitlement. A lot of people would feel violated, and that the trust within their relationship had been broken if they found out their partner was having sex with them whilst they weren't conscious. This is yaoi logic though, where rape is treated as a harmless plot device, so ho hum.

Thanks. I think it's just a bit disappointing to see such tropes still employed in this genre. Most of us probably read or watched Koisuru Boukun or Junjou Romantica, they show rape as a normal plot device and the power imbalances, but at least there was some sort of plot outside of this. Those series were bad, and get criticised by modern readers, so it's odd that even worse content gets made today, where you have feminine, weak with no thoughts of their own "ukes" and "semes" who rape and control and it's treated as fine

If you say so, but the reality of the situation is that humans are much more base creatures than you give them credit for, women included. Sex is a good thing to most people. You're discussing nothing but the worst case scenario in which they wake up and actually don't feel okay with what's happening because if you acknowledge the more likely scenario of them waking up and being fine with what's happening, your argument falls apart.

"Sex is a good thing to most people", yeah when it's FUCKING CONSENSUAL. Are you failing to grasp this? @Anonymous

I grasp it, i've also already addressed this, but for some reason you keep pretending that all sleep sex will lead to negative feelings and responding based solely on this false way of thinking. I've already addressed everything you said, unfortunately you just keep repeating the same thing. I know that you can wake up and feel negatively about what's happening, but what i said was that the majority of the time the person will wake up okay with what's happening because the scenario we're discussing is between lovers. Pre-established consent. You keep responding to this saying "if it's nonconsensual", which would mean the person wasn't okay with what happened. Do you see the circle here? I've already given you the answers, if they wake up not okay with it, it's rape, if not then they consented already. Again, established bond of trust allows for liberties. I don't really care if you agree with me on the "liberties" part because for you to argue that is naive and unfortunately for your argument isn't based in reality. There ARE liberties, that the majority of people take advantage of and are okay with, you'll understand when you're in a mature relationship. Or even just with some more life experience as it's such basic knowledge that you'll just pick it up over time.
