I love the premise but I just can’t with mc’s that can’t take compliments. One thing is not thinking the same. Like responding with “thanks, but it’s not true” that’s acknowledging that they think it. but what she’s doing is just straight up not believing it and accusing him of lying. I hope she stops saying “stop joking” and “don’t play with me” or whatever she says because it’s so cliche and annoying :/

Yeha I get where it’s coming from, but it’s just been used in literally every mc I see. Make it female, so I’ve gotten tired of it. I’m pretty sure most people can take a compliment. Whether they think the same or not is up to them, but most people would be able to say “thank you”

Honestly as someone who’s female but has grown up getting masculine compliments a lot, it gets frustrating often. There comes a point where you need to draw a line of what you’re comfortable with, especially when it seems like the other party is making fun of you. Saying her refusing the “compliments” is annoying is a little harsh because she genuinely believes they’re not genuine and she doesn’t want to build her expectations of him especially since the other party is a popular, handsome guy that has girls flock to him.
i really hope he becomes a celebrity that would be so cool! and it would also deepen the plot and character development
