The seme's road to redemption is actually a nice treat considering the insane roller coaster we've been put through. The calm before the storm.
Slowly, the uke is moved, but he doesn't outrightly accepts the seme yet. He's still doubtful that the seme has changed but for the first time, he actually embraces the fact that he's still alive because he wants to see for himself if the seme actually changed with his own eyes (He knows he's going to die around the same time as he did in the past)

Seme is a shitty dad though lol. The crown prince is actually quite cute, but misguided by all the shitty adults around him. The uke slowly teaches him right from wrong.
Eg. The uke's favourite animal is the bird. The prince wanted to catch a bird for the uke. But when the uke says that the bird wouldn't be happy and would rather fly free, the crown prince cried but he slowly learns.

The father-son combi is just seeking attention from the uke lol.

Seme dials down on his possessiveness.

Meanwhile, the consort stand-in of the crown prince (She's not his biological mom, but the crown prince is the seme's biological son) is really upset because the crown prince is also attached to the uke and wants to get rid of him.

And bambam, the stupid brother makes a reappearance. In this lifetime, Uke is an outcast from his family and is sent to a remote place to live. The brother chances upon the uke and falls for him.

Eventually he rapes the uke, and his father found out about his infatuation. He forces the brother to marry, otherwise he'll get rid of the uke. Thinking that he is protecting the uke, the brother goes off. But the father sends the uke to the slave camp (which is where the uke ended up at the beginning of the story ta-dah)

The brother's plan is to kill the seme. Which he also told the consort who is okay with it since her "son" is the crown prince anyways.

There, he presents the uke with a cup of poison wine. (But it's like idk some voodoo shit not sure)
If the uke doesn't manage to give this wine to the seme in 3 days, the brother will die. So basically giving the uke an ultimatum.

This leads to a flashback, revealing that this happened before in the past. Back then, the uke decides to give the seme the wine. But before he does, he kisses the seme.

He wanted to tell the seme that he actually liked the seme and not women which the seme had once had a misconception over because the uke rejected the seme's advances.

The reason why the uke rejected the seme back then is because of that fucking brother though :) Because the brother told him that he cannot control himself because of how seductive he is. This led to the uke thinking that it's his fault, and anyone who falls for him is because of that seduction thingy. And he didn't want to do that to an Emperor

The seme saw through this long ago and told him that he killed his brother and the entire bloodline, once again reminding him that he can never run from him.
The uke mocks himself, saying to himself that this cup of wine was for him this whole time.

Then it flashes to the scene of uke's suicide.

Back to the present.

The uke rejects the wine that the brother offers. He says that the seme is changing and he wants to see how he changed. He wants to observe him for awhile.

Here, the brother reveals that he also recalls everything that had happened. And he knows that the uke is trying to protect him.
He remembered after he left. (After he was sent off)

The uke was shocked and told the brother that he had never hated him but he doesn't see him as more than a brother. The brother tells him that he just wants the uke to be free, and fly away like a bird.

He reminds him that it's either him or the seme. He then kisses the uke, (and feeds him something through the kiss)

Afterwards he leaves.

The uke is in a dilemma not knowing what he should do.

It cuts to the seme in court. His subordinate reminds him that he needs to visit a consort soon because it has been a long time (apparently thats a thing lol)

He asks for the one that has white hair blahblah and the subordinate wanted to protest but he couldn't.

The uke learns of it and was upset, thinking that the seme has given up on him. His maid encourages him that he should visit the seme because she is sure that the seme is really devoted to him.

Having only 3 days to decide, the uke decides to do so. However he was too late and the seme already went in. He decides to wait outside for the seme, lamenting that he didn't really know the feeling of waiting for someone and he is a little hurt thinking that the seme has given up.

The maid protests saying that he will fall sick because his body is weak and the weather is cold but he says its okay.

He wakes up, sick lol

But he is still unable to meet the seme. Remembering that he only has 2 days left, he wants to find the seme but to no avail. He is desperate at this point wanting to go off to find the seme, still sick. If not the crown prince because he doesn't have any time left. He realises that the seme probably knows about it and is avoiding seeing him for 3 days, causing him to "indirectly" kill his brother.

However, as he leaves, he also makes another realisation that this was probably not a cold but he was poisoned that day when his brother kissed him. There he coughs blood and faints

And I am also impressed with the story where they made the uke fall for the seme first before he become psycho. This made more sense where the uke have some sort of attachment to the seme but is very angry and dissapointed at him for being a crazy dictator in the past life. At least it made more sense than some yaois where the uke just falls in love when the seme is just bad from the first moment they met... I am like.... Uhh.

Well you cant really talk about the married guy bacause they were sex friends before he got married.

Idk about the kissing thing. Thats not me, but i know ppl do that with close friends and family. My husband's family are french they kiss me. I think its weird but i dont make a scene.

Yes there are slut shaming but not all. I think some ppl do make valid points.

For me. I stopped reading it because the seme had asked the uke to only sleep with him, but the next day the uke was willing to sleep with someone else.

I don't dislike all the negative comments towards the manga since there are some with interesting points which I do agree with. I don't like comments calling him and "onahole" I've even seen people using "slut" as a positively to describe a character before embracing their promiscuity and stuff. I've read people who dislike him and make valid points and I'm not talking about those people. People are free to like or dislike a character, and Makoto's character isn't my type either.

For the kissing part, I guess it's weird because it's deep kissing?
I don't really know much about how much skinship people have from the West and to what extent it will be considered as normal. I've only seen a light peck on the cheeks or hugging.

Just because he likes someone doesn't mean he's bound to his crush. I like reading stories with pure love sure, but still I just considered this as something different. The writing is a mess but I liked it enough for how weird it was. And it's really one small step away from just turning into a psychological manga (which would be way more interesting but stressful

I also don't think that Makoto will suddenly jump into real life and kill himself over the hate but I guess it's a little worrying in a sense? Because this kind of comments also exist on places where real people are involved so I got a little sensitive.

I don't really have to scroll much to see the overwhelming sea of hate on Makoto, although it's a little better now that the story is completed but I just like balancing things out a little. Since Makoto's not really a horrible character and everyone is just weird in this story.

I'm not trying to insinuate that people who hate this manga are rapists or hates consensual sex. Otherwise I'll be labelled a lot of things by now by the amount of things I'm okay with or enjoy lol.

People are overly sensitive over "rape" in stories. I think it's getting better now in the BL scene, but last time yeah I do agree. Honestly there's a large amount of BL that pushes the story forward using rape or fake hurt which is stupid to read but it really makes the other better stories stand out.
But some people literally don't allow any character to repent (sure some don't deserve it but some I think are ok) and they continuously bring it up and dismissing any possible "happy ending" there could be.

It's getting to a point where I can't read a story without people discussing the moralities of fictional characters.
Sadly I've actually seen people attacking the authors (especially korean ones since they use SNS a lot) on what a character does and stuff. Which is just irritating especially when the author replies in English.

Also I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings by stating my points down. Like I said, I've seen good points arguing against Makoto's selfish character and I do agree. It's not as if I'll suddenly build a shrine worshiping how well written it is haha.

Arguing here is fine, but really really hope people will stop going to the author's private twitters just to bash them and it's not like I have any way of stopping people from doing so.

But yup, I'm just here to read stories not here to start a whole political movement. I think the author themselves didn't take it too seriously writing this too seeing how quickly it ended once they got together.

Whats the reason you look at comments?

Sometimes when im unsure about a manga. Ill read the comments. It tells what an impression the manga left behind. This helps me to read the manga or not.

Sometimes ill read the manga and love it so much. I just want to see what other ppls opinions are. Doesnt matter if its negative or positive. I just wanna see ppls opinions. I generally dont take it personally.

I dont know what sns is.

But negative comments shouldn't stop you from enjoying a good manga. I mean you should enjoy your mangas that you like. There will always be crappy ppl everywhere dont let it get inbetween you and a good manga. Cuz then your missing out.

I tend to look into the comments to see if a certain manga is worth my while or not.
For example I don't really enjoy cheating themes, or complicated love triangles with no real resolution. I'll normally just avoid those.

Sometimes if it is really ridiculous I end up reading the manga out of curiosity. I also like to read the general response of a manga I just complete to gauge the overall opinion of a story. However, I'm also free to put out a comment which I normally don't do. I rarely comment in stories I read tbh. But while there's a general opinion which everyone agree with, ultimately there's also the opposite. Which this time round I happen to be in.
So while I'm not raising my pitchfork to burn all the people who don't agree with me, which is stupid btw, I'm also free to comment as I like.

I enjoy engaging in civilized discussions because it's interesting to see people argue against my points and it's fun to learn more about the other sides which I don't think about. Plus, agreeing to disagree is what I normally do however in future discussions, there are more points I can make after getting more viewpoints. The comment section is an interesting read if people are willing to put out their points without shutting other people out.

And don't worry, I rarely let comments drive me away from reading a manga because I like to read it myself to formulate my own thoughts. I've liked several stories that are almost overwhelmingly hated too but it doesn't stop me from liking it.
It varies from person to person. Some people might feel like a story is a waste of time, whereas some people just eat it up.

Generally, I'm a sucker for well-executed cliches no matter how predictable a story is.
And I'm lowkey a fan of gore which is pretty controversial.
