Dojun is so engrossed in his own anxiety and self-doubt that he doesn’t accept he’s an important support figure to taeseok. He doesn’t think he’s worthy of taeseoks love and devotion.

Having a mental illness makes it difficult to be in a relationship, it can make it difficult to reciprocate your partners affection. When you’re in a dark place, it can hard to see outside your own struggles and notice people around you are going through similar situations. You can become so consumed with your own despair you’re blind to the struggles of the people around you. That doesn’t excuse dojun being inconsiderate of taeseoks feelings of course. Taeseok is a kind person that deserves proper communication.

I understands people’s frustration with Dojun. He definitely is not an easy person to be close to, he should be more respectful of taeseoks emotions. You don’t have to like him, but you don’t have to minimize his own struggles. There’s nothing wrong with him breaking up with taeseok and focusing on his own mental health. Sometimes it’s better to spend time apart and become healthier, rather than brining someone else into your downward spiral.

Though this story may not go that route, and I hope it doesn’t (since this is fiction and I like happpy endings). At the end of the chapter dojun is telling the mom to be honest to taeseok , and I wonder if he’s simultaneously telling himself the advice. He should be honest to taeseok, be open and tell him his doubts. I hope he delivers the box and talks to him, I hope they reconcile.
