Haru has signs of trauma, he shows little negative emotion, he cares little in events where he would be emotionally compromised, and lastly he used himself as livestock, he isn't stupid. it's clearly a facade, he thinks more than he let's on, he was able to notice the irregularities in the worms sudden adaption and already figured he wasn't the source but the remedy, he's a good mc, he has immense potential both success wise and as well as personality wise, his past is absolute fuel for his ability to become extremely overpowered. this boy is not yet intertwined with his subconscious, and in other words he's in his weakest stage due to it, those cuffs seem to hold a great under laying meaning towards it's existence on him, if his powers are so strong he needs it years after it's regular function it means that he could become a literal beast when he's at his semi best, not to even mention his absolute. The plot keeps you on your feet and his character is unpredictable due to his selective insertion of emotion, he is the epitome of a great mc and I would definitely use his character as a reference for any further manhwas, he is simply that worthy. pay closer attention to his patterns and you'll find that he is more capable than Lee. Lee is far too emotionally invested, which isn't a bad thing, however when people compare Haru to Lee they fail to realize how easily Lee was ready to leave the area, whether he may or may not have been aware of how nonsensical their conclusion of the worm was, he didn't think twice about the situation nor the lives at stake had he let the woman die, knowing the worm was becoming sentient, nothing would've stopped the worm from leaving the building since it's main goal was the students. In short- had Lee been the mc Haru would've followed Lee's say so due to protagonist logic, and as a result killing not only the other existing main characters but also himself due to how his emotions triggered his flight or fight. Lee is a good character but he has his limitations. It makes him a good character the same way Haru has emotional limitations, they are polar opposites with similarities, and in this scenario Haru's limitations saved both himself and the other main characters.
TLDR- Haru is a good character with emotional trauma, he isn't dumb, and he certainly isn't lesser than Lee.
I completely agree with you. I can’t believe someone else notice how strange he was being. At first I thought he was dumb ( not gonna lie) but as the chapters progressed I realized nahhhh it’s more like he lacks the right emotions and reactions. And then it dawned on me that he wasn’t not reacting he was reacting in a was that de-escalated or straight out disappointed everyone expectations- which surprise surprise was done on purpose. I was impressed. I expect great things from my dude.

he legit scared him into being sorry. "I wish I could forget my past of subliminally fucking around with other people but I won't allow YOU to even admire other people cause I get the privilege and you don't" that's some bullshit man. and people call Hyesung the asshole.
