At the same time, he is TRAUMATIZED, and while he is struggling with his own shit, he really wants to be in a healthy and meaningful relationship. I know it's for plot, and might even be realistic for some people, but like how the fuck are you going to say you want your husband to love you when you don't love him either? She ran away because she thought he's gay and she was just a figure duchess, basically she thought he wouldn't even try to have a real relationship. Tbh she is young and no should butt in a relationship between the 2 so the brother telling him not to stop her was abit problematic and kinda dumb that he didn't stop her from leaving but it's not unreasonable development or plot.
