Man, I love her the most when she had dark hair - but great way of showing how Renee quite literally felt like a puppet the mc was inhabiting throughout the story, makes sense with how she wants to return it back to the original owner, and how she still wants to go back home. But... the art is so Cookie cutter, it's started to brother me by chap 20. I tend to look into shojo manhwas whenever they appear on the homepage or the cover catches my eye, but I always drop them because the art style is too stiff and unoriginal compared to their shounen counterparts (but I have a read a handful of female mcs with unique and amazing art, but a drop compared to the male counter parts ). I mean shounen manhwa got some boring art as well, but there's so much being put out, just 10% unique ones already saturate the place with 20 times more than shojo. Plus, I would love a female mc in a fantasy isekai that's a villainess or young lady adjacent that doesn't get in with a love interest and the men don't automatically keep falling in love with her (or not at all!!!)
I knew our officer wasn't gonna turn out to be a dirt bag (despite his questionable choices concerning his ex and how easily he let him push him down) that genuinely left the kid that supposably died (which I am on the edge of believe is false but I'll just say he actually is for now) and fled when now we have the backstory of him actually being a popo that goes beyond his duty and checked up on the kid cuz he was worried which already makes him more than a decent person. And with that brick to the head - he was definitely not in his right mind, plus I'm starting to think he didn't actually flee and maybe was moved since he still can't recall anything afterwards 8 years later.
(you can find it on Novelupdates)
SPOILERS:
Our Mc as actually made some attempts to tell him that he actually began to like him and inquired about the ml liking him back but the Ml full on blocked him with something along the lines of "why would I like you"
So... I'm feeling MURDEROUS, GONNA STRANGLE THIS BOI MYSELF WHEN/IF THAT GETS ILLUSTRATED THE WAY I THINK IT IS
Yes thats trug but it get resolved rather quickly and maturely with a TALK about FEELINGS.. I was very impressed. Sihyun doesn't equate love either a good thing and this tries to avoid the word but the man is down so bad he'd even settle for the side piece position if he had to.. which he doesn't. Such a lovely couple once they get past this hilarious misunderstanding (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
Did you finish the novel?
I read it on https://novelib.com/story/sugar-trap/ and just bought the remaining chapters since I was impatient.. It's true the misunderstanding will continue for a while still but the resolving is done rather without fuss
I've read it to what was uploaded on Novelupdates - I think 29 chapters? I suppose you're right - I can't handle the text misunderstanding without expressions, so I think I'll just wait for this manhwas to catch up to the resolution that you mention. Thanks for the info tho! I'm extremely glad to hear it'll be full resolved later in a done well way
Everytime I read these shojo manhwas, I always ship SaintessXVillainess ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
