I recommend reading the novel, the pace is just right, i was at 100+ chapters before i knew it. And the author is just soooo good at delivering angst. Every line digs deeper and deeper into your heart until it breaks.
Also, i must say, the Dad really deserves the protagonist title. He acts naive, but he’s actually quick to put all the pieces together, no matter how unlikely the conclusion is.

Welp... I can understand her tho... think about it... she was about to die and knew what that would do to him with him loving her so much... she didn't even knew if she'd live enough for the child to be born... so it'd be double the pain for him... so I understand what she did... dumb but understandable.
The worst of the worst for me is the aunt... the parents don't lose by much... but her... how dare she mistreat her niece like that... the mother trusted her with her daughter in her last moments and she accepted it. No matter what, a dragon disregarding their promises like that is ridiculous... not breaking promises is part of their pride and arrogance... no matter if she's a halfling or not... Wait ..... I think her mom know that she doesn't have time to live. It said that dragon are matriarchal, and I think they have a unique way of being "pregnant". It's not through intercourse, it's through "love" they say. If they love someone enough, they can create a seed on their belly with ther mana or something like that? That's what I caught on based on what I read in the manhwa, and since I don't read the novel, I don't know for sure.

apparently, the reason she got cursed was because she protected him. If he knew about it he would blame himself so thats why she left
i don’t think it’s heading towards the direction i expected… she’s basically forgiven him, and with the emperor’s personality, i don’t think there will be fun banters or battle of wits

It was both! If I remember correctly they teamed up together and the Monarch of Fangs fled when defeat was inevitable while Baran did not
They both betrayed him at different occasions, baran betrayed him during the Great War with the absolute being, the monarch of fangs didn’t quite betray him since they were never ally. They betrayed the agreement to not touch each other (monarchs) by plotting with the monarch of frost to kill ashborn before his complete reincarnation (Jin woo) and intervening on earth, ashborn’s territory if i remember correctly, given by those winged bastards after betraying him (the tried to kill him, did actually, he just came back as the shadow monarch, after killing the absolute being, with the complicity of baran)
