the author and the artist did a good job of presenting cruel reality of war and what that can do to people. as i was reading this, i was reminded of my grandma's story. its a bit similar to this. before my grandpa met my grandma, he served in WW2 as a canadian soldier for 3 years, he was only 16. they said the enlistment was 18 of age but they were a lot of them, young boys. they were only 19 and 27 when they met. surprisingly, my grandma is the one thats older.

they met at an internment camp. my grandma treated my grandpa's wounds as a nurse replacing the former who passed away on duty. the catch is, shes german. she was part of the people that were interned by the canadian army. the camp was running low on staff and she boldly volunteered to risk it by helping wounded canadian soldiers. but under strict watchful eyes. that boldness of her and the courage she had was one of the reasons why i really admire her. maybe thats why even after 4 miscarriages and frequent abuse from my grandpa in the early stages of their relationship, she still had my dad.

before they had dad, she said grandpa tried to change for the better. she said he even went as far as leaving the title and deed of the house as well as giving her all his wealth and especially him offering her a divorce. in which they went through and finalized. apparently after that, he tried to confine himself in a mental health facility to atone for everything hes done to her. he was there for 2 years. before he finally decided to come to her again. grandma was pregnant before they divorced and before he left. they both thought she was going to have a miscarriage again considering the hightened strained relationship they had at the time so they did not have high hopes. but she successfully gave birth to dad in the first year grandpa left. so he came back to her holding a baby in her arms. apparently grandpa thought she had moved on and chose to be with another man in which my grandma hit him on the head as a payback. however, they never really got back with each other. they stayed together for the sake of my dad.

i didnt really know how they reconciled or how the violence started since i didnt ask but she just told me "we had a talk" before ending her story. now im sorry for the long paragraph, but i would like to mention that i was never able to meet my grandpa. he passed away when dad turned four. grandma told me that she feels its unfair for him to die first when he was the one who interrupted her many suicide attempts before. she laughed it off saying "hes always like that. not saying anything before its too late."

Truly one the best and true romance ive ever read. there are some unrealistic nature to it however, it was true to its plot. the characters were all enjoyable. everyone was given proper introduction and an end. the bond between the ml and the fl were also realized very beautifully and well done. when i stopped reading this manhwa 3 years ago, i wasn't expecting much because i was getting frustrated with the ml and the fl not having a chance to be with each other with all the concubine elements, but it was a good reader frustration part. it was well done. i cant even complain. it was as beautiful as i left this manhwa, the ending is even more beautiful. it's truly a gem. just like luci, i aspire for a world where women wouldnt need to apologize for being born or feel at disadvantage for being born. even if it is just in the works of being a dream, it's a good one that many will follow and hopefully, really, in our own reality, we can truly achieve such thing with no opposition. this manhwa has made me cry multiple times. such a strong fl. i'll forever have this manhwa in my bookmarks. :)

i have a really hard time understanding this manhwa despite taking the time to read more into it. i dont like how they relay information in this manhwa nothing wrong with the plot itself or even the art, really just with how they progress the story
