You should be directing your grievances at the publishers and the readers. The readers love these stories, so, the publishers demand from the authors what the readers want and the authors provide provide what the readers want because they have to make money. A simple law of demand and supply.

Related to this, I think that the popularity of "redemption arcs" has done a lot of danger to readers, I've seen that people start a manga with awful characters and like them just because they know they "will redeem themselves", and at the same time I get the feeling that some authors like it that way (like mingwa or euja¿).
