Oh shit, the implication that online manga sites gave abused kids access to Harada is very disturbing. I, too, read Harada when I was a kid and I didn’t consider that other kids would be doing the same thing. I wasn’t abused though, just had unfettered internet access. Well, only mentally and physically. This particular work is absolutely vomit inducing. I, fortunately, skipped this and a lot of other Harada because I wasn’t into Gintama and I was too scared by the warnings from the other crazy shit they wrote but holy hell, this one is particularly scary.
I think...in a way, harada's works let us process the disgusted, the shame, and the pain of our childhood. And somehow when we read harada's stories it made us start the healing process where our younger minds were in a very dark space.
