The author explained that Chiwoo and the cops knew he didn't kill anyone. The guy confessed and didn't want to live in fear of Jihyun. This I why Jihuun was released early and had his record scrubbed.

He is the best bottom. I’m so glad the didn’t make the typical really twinky, soft, pushover bottom. I really love that he was strong physically and a tough exterior. Way more unique. I hope this story continues for quite a bit. I enjoyed the ups and downs.
