there are some good bl webtoons out there with actual good dramas (unlike the typical misunderstanding no-communication bullshit that drags on for chapters). some of the ones that i've liked:
- a thousand cranes
- voice of love
- restless (too bad this one is still ongoing and has slow updates)
- walk on water (not much drama but it's good)
- ice man (not much drama or complex plot but the story makes you go (づ￣ ³￣)づ)

Im not entirely sure if it's similar to BJ Alex but try, Walk on Water, it has one of the best plots and good character developments in my opinion.

Some yaoi mangas that I really like are Escape Journey by Ogeretsu Tanaka (one of my all time favorites, the characters' relationship is so realistic and moving), and Elektel Delusion, which is literally the cutest manga eveeeer.
As for horror, there's one called Homunculus which isn't very well known. It's disturbing as hell and very interesting, it may not be to everyone's taste but I definitely recommend it.
