This seems to have been a bit buried so I'm just gonna point out the reason the ending was rushed is because the author was sick, so it was rush it or don't finish it at all. Saying that I don't know how serious it was but I check this now and then in hopes that she made a recovery and goes back to it some day.
I was totally on the fence with Sam and Seth but after Sam's talk with his sister, I just don't like him and I think she really nailed why. After she said how posessive he was i looked back and realized he really is. He also feels quite manipulative. Seth on the other hand is now just an open book, very considerate and doesn't sulk the way Sam has been.
Fell off the fence and in to team Seth i guess? Which is unfortunate because I think I know where it's going. xD
Not spoilers, just conjecture. Whilst I don't hate the pairing of the story (and obviously people all like different things) I think this story is doing exactly what the infamous Unripened Expression did to ruin itself for SO many people.
The crush is an outsider to the narrative but the crushes friend is serving as a secondary role to the main character. This is typically how couples are written, with both sides being developed so getting together feels natural and well paced. Instead the crush is going to fell abrupt and forced after playing second fiddle to the friend but justified just because we're told the MC likes him.
I don't really blame old Ha-Woon (with memories) after seeing this, it really seems to insinuate he was sexually abused growing up. He's still young and it's the kind of thing that really can overpower your view on people and the world, espescially regarding trust, so I find him quite believable. He didn't see the things we see as readers regarding Wan's intent and thoughts.
New Ha-Woon definitely suffers from honest communication allergies but I suppose I can't hold that against him since it happens so often in this genre. I like this one, the characters are interesting.
My favourite part of this story is how well written the characters are, as much as people praise the smut, it's clumsy, down to earth point of view from Ed combined with him (and us) not knowing what is going through everyone elses heads that make this feel so endearing. Glenn, Lancer and Chang give just enough to have you question their motivations and thoughts without ever showing their hand and it's impressive for how subtle they are, despite the premise being so bold. I don't think i've seen such good body language and use of silent facial expressions since Yoneda Kou's works.
This is the best story about 30 year old high school body builders i've ever read. Though I should point out in the spirit of fairness, it is the only story about 30 year old high school body builders i've ever read. But still.
