Sonna ni Iu Nara Daiteyaru is still ongoing in Japan so I will have to wait and see if it won't be picked up by someone else later. If it's completed and still not picked up, I will consider it. If we look at the definition of grooming google says “the action of attempting to form a relationship with a child or young person, with the intention of sexually assaulting that child”
While the duke didn’t do anything sexual with Alois before and left him on his own to meet other people he did approach a child with the intention of having him look at him the way he saw him do in the future (in love) . If he had returned to the past and had eventually saved Alois by coincidence or only remembered that he had to save a child called Alois and didn’t think of doing that act in the future after he had grown up that would be fine but he didn’t. He remembered everything and waited for that moment to happen while telling himself that he had to let Alois make the decision himself. By definition this is grooming and the fact that he slept in the same bed as child Alois really doesn’t help his case here.

Yes, he’s being an ass right now but that was in the past. He clearly had some kind of assumption about Sejin at the beginning of their engagement and something happened later that changed his mind. People can change their mind about others when they realize that what they thought to be true turns out to be false. It would be a problem if he stubbornly stayed in his mindset but he didn’t. He got another chance and he used that to help Sejin get away from his family, something he probably thought Sejin needed. Instead of turning a blind eye he used his money to get him away and to give him a new start with a business that sells something Sejin is actually interested in. His only mistake in the present timeline is that he didn’t ask Sejin what he wanted. Everything he did and offered Sejin was with genuine intentions to cut his chains
This isn’t a smut manhwa with a simple plot that your last brain cell can understand. It’s a properly thought through story with a proper plot that will unveil new information every chapter. Just wait patiently to see how the story unfolds and leave your judgement for after we know what happened.
If you can’t deal with the nasty behavior go read a fluffy story after reading a chapter of this

The reactions are valid & idk if people couldn’t tell, but it was fairly obvious the direction they were going with this. I still think it would be bizarre and nasty to defend him and support them getting together in the end. Change isn’t anything if you’re an abuser. The excuses that it’s ok because he’s assuming what sejin is after, is an extremely worrisome. Scary even.

It was obvious Ido had done somethings he wasn't proud of - this is what he tried to fix when he got another chance.
I actually really like that we have a ML who is given a chance change and be better to Seijin - and he does just that.
Calling him an abuser is a bit strong. All he is doing is showing in a rather crude way that he isn’t interested in Sejin. If he had laid hands on Sejin then he definitely can’t be forgiven but hasn’t done anything (yet) that can’t be resolved with a proper apology and change of behavior.
...The beginning of the story starts with him from his past life raping sejin, did we all just forget that..?

Abuse is not always physical you know? Verbal abuse is still abuse, neglect is also abuse etc etc. Sejin was basically abused by all his "closed ones" in his prev life.
Even *IF* his abuse didn't compare to the other assholes, I honestly still don't feel like he deserves to be defended. He changed his approach but doesn't change that he does things based on his own belief stubbornly without asking for sejin's opinions, still a huge jerk. ┑(￣Д ￣)┍

Well then I guess I’ll have to pretend to be in a relationship with my friend who I previously had no romantic feelings at all, and make out with them.” Like what? If my friend and I would end up there we’d both go to jail cause I just can’t imagine kissing them.
