There's a lot of debate as to whether JGY is a villain and it's interesting to see everyone's opinions. But it got me thinking "is there really an over villain in this story?" While I was reading the novel the idea of nothing is white or black really stuck out to me. The author did an amazing job in writing these characters and writing this story. Some might say "well the Wens are to blame" but we have some members of the Wen family who wanted nothing to do with the goals of the main clan. JGY is an example of someone who has done so many had things, but has also lived a miserable life. He is neither a full victim nor villain. I would talk about some other characters but that would be spoiling and I don't want to do that. My point is that honestly love explaining and talking about this series to my friends and being like "Yeah it can be complicated and sometimes you don't know who should or should not love, but it is so well written and so the way they deal with this gray area that exists even in real life is amazing. Sometimes we think that something has to be right or wrong when really its just grey.
it does not matter if you pittyJGS and see him has a victim or see him has a villain. what the most important is their action. and in this case, no matter how much gray you try to say JGS is, his actions is still wrong and corrupt and only hurt others. creating more victims

Why has pitty for him? Me? Hahahahahahahahaha wlamazing joke you made there. I just love how the author wrote the entire stories. The fact that there have been people having mixed feelings about characters like this speaks to how amazing the author is. But hey if YOU have your opinion that cool. I'll live with MY opinion

Lol look at me misspelling. I meant "who" not "why"
Honestly, the only pure villain in my eyes is JGS (even tho his seed gave us amazing characters), since I can't find any redeeming qualities for him. All the rest have shades of gray. MDZS main theme is that there is no 'black and white'. This is a flaw in the teaching of GusuLan and how NMJ sees the world (all Wens are bad, JGY is bad from NMJ's point of view).
I like to argue that even WRH was probably not a bad guy from a different perspective. We have a very honorable and loyal Wen Zhuliu following him. We know he hates Wen Chao and his hoe due to their behaviour and actions. Whatever WRH did, it gained him a very loyal cultivator.
JGY and XY are both products of the world. They are so nicely detailed, psychologically built that they, along with WWX, are easily my favourite characters. To the cultivation world WWX is the villain, while in ours he's our protagonist.

yes, but i think we can all agree that the entire cultivation world would've been better off without JGS and his dick

And thats why I'll forever love the author
