I’d say I’ve seen situations of separated parents and I have experienced it myself. Re-marriage and living with the other parent are both giant adjustments for a young kid. I’m assuming that this marriage has Seiichiro mom in a more stable situation now than she was before. In her mind she probably believes that this new environment will be better for her son. I’d say she isn’t right nor wrong. Seiichiro is familiar with his life and enjoys it, he is living happily and healthy in the situation he’s in. His father is doing well. Parenting is a learning experience so I’d say neither mother nor father can be seen as better.
If she wants more visitation hours then she can make plans to make it weekly or to split custody but even then that should be decided with Seiichiro’s happiness in mind. Just because he’s young doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a say in this choice.
Is she a bad person? No, but she needs to think more about the situation. Also meeting your parent’s new partner can end horribly if done wrong. Being newly married, taking your child to live with you full time, and introducing your partner to your kid sounds like an emotional disaster with how much is going on.
Mom is not making a good decision for him but I understand she loves him. Hope the next chapters cover stuff on how this will affect the child. This manga has been pretty good at showing how children react so far

Honestly I can relate a lot. Unlike our solo guy though I’ve never been as confident. Usually as a kid I would just say what I thought people wanted to hear. The fact it shows him never being discouraged by others words even from those close to him makes me happy. I hope he finds more people the accept him for who he is.
