This is the most unfair of all the unfair. Tssssk trust issue in KS is real Bum you promised right? What? is it just the heat of the moment reasoning now? Fucking bullshit, Sangwoo is a victim too. Yonbum's promises only extended Sangwoo's hope of finding someone who 'really' understands the deepest of him oh well good luck us all to Koogi's decision for the remaining chaps... I bet it wasn't unfair to all of SangWoo's victims. That dude was insane and clearly disturbed. No matter how much love Bum pours into that monster, there's nothing that's going to happen, he will still be a murdering psychopath. So long as he's living that wretched life since young, SangWoo's never going to change. He needs to reincarnate or something

They were just saying that he's a victim too and that they feel sorry for him. Unfortunate about Sangwoo's victims too, but that doesn't change that Sangwoo's past was sad too.

You can't change your past but you can change your future. And yet SangWoo chose to become the same monster as his abusive father and psycho dad. No matter what kind of past he had, the murders he has committed cannot be excused. He is just a monster

Whoops. I meant to say mom. His mom was also a disturbed and psychopathic son-fucker

You say that like it's so easy when it most certainly is not. If you've suffered trauma and heavy psychological damamge, it's pretty bs to say "just pick up the pieces and out yourself back together." That's demeaningbmental damage and treating it on the equivalent of a minor inconvenience. He didn't become a killer on a whim, he suffered and took it out on other people. The same way people yell at those around them when they're having a bad day, people like Sangwoo take out their pain on others, and the pain they dish out directly correlates to the pain they recieved. Sangwoos actions aren't excused at all, but you shouldn't imply that Sangwoo wanted to be who he is.

I just think that no matter what the reason, killing is inexcusable. Period. Also, if he is also a victim of such abuse, wouldn’t a sane person actually have the decency to NOT do that unto others?? Since he experienced it first hand, the humanity to not do it to others too should’ve kicked in. His victims weren’t even all evil, some of them were innocent and he killed them off on a whim. I’m not downplaying his suffering, I know he has gone through hell but what he did after that was just monstrosity

The situation isn't something you can put into a logical little box, he could've responded in any way to what happened to him, his mind was literally broken, intentionally by his own mother. Also, i said what i said in my first response to avoid this giant virtue conflict i saw looming on the horizon. I was pointing out that the subject was Sangwoo's past, not his victims. You're veering the discussion off topic, i'm sure there're plenty topics discussing what you clearly really want to discuss. Sangwoo's past is sad, period, and nobody was trying to get into a conversation about why his crimes can't be excused with you when that wasn't the topic. I don't think anyone is trying to excuse his crimes.

That directly implies that such abuse and suffering DOESNT break people, and that such breakage as a rssult of said trauma isn't a human response. I don't know about you, but not everyone comes out of a childhood like that with the capability to simply pick up the pieces. Also, that's not how psychology works, not indefinitely anyways.
The "not wanting others to suffer the way you have" portion I mean. Again, basic revenge mentality. Bullies were often bullied, and in some cases, like Sangwoos, the "bully" was a violent and manipulative abuser that he spent his whole life with. Like the person above me said, no one (in this thread anyway) is treating his actions as excusable. You, on the other hand, seem to be treating it like his situation means nothing and in no way contributed to his current self and psyche, pushing his past to the side and chalking it up to him being a monster. You can understand why a person is the way they are without condoning their actions. A pretty good chunk of the fandom for things like this do it.
I can understand why you view him as such, it's a pretty common viewpoint to have, but I just can't condone simply chalking him up to a monster. While his actions were certainly monsterous, downplaying him as one completely diregards his experiences, how he was raised, and psychology as a whole.
Sure, I understand his past is a mess. But I still do not pity the man that he has become. All this "psyche" and "pychological trauma" is all good and well but I still do not see him as a victim. Just my two cents on it and nothing about his past changes that ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
