I love how so many people feel bad for this guy even though he probably deserves life in prison or the death penalty.
(Also, I don't even think he actually cares about her, he just wants to own her. He kind of treats her like a pet and forgets that she's a human with actual autonomy.)
This is literally why so many guilty people are set free or given light sentences. If they look nice on the outside, we feel bad for them, sympathize with them, or think that they must not be that bad.
Maybe people should wear masks or something when they go to court.
As the chapters progress, I'm starting to hate the best friend character more and more. I was kind of rooting for her in the very beginning, but she does not handle jealousy well at all. She acts like a child.
I mean, why would you kick someone's art at an exhibition??? (Even if there is a dead body inside.) You just don't do that.
I get that it seems like the MC being too obsessive and stuff, but you aren't looking at it from her perspective. Yes, she is a bit annoying, but her life depends on whether or not she can get this kid, Ain, to love her or even just like her. In a way, her world does need revolve around him, at least until she reaches the point where Ain stops thinking of her as a toy. Ain still isn't at the point where we can say he likes her as a mother or even as a person, he is just treating her like a toy he doesn't want to share with his father.
It's also a bit harsh to call her stupid for not noticing that Ain is faking. The readers know something the MC doesn't know; and isn't supposed to know. Ain is purposefully keeping it from her and is trained for this kind of thing. If some cute kid was being nice to you, would you really think they are actually some calculative a$$hole on the inside? I doubt it. And if you think about it, most kids are a$$holes on the inside anyway (they're just not as smart as Ain).
We're only on ch. 16, so I assume the story will take a decisive turn somewhere soon. But I will admit that it's weird that the MC isn't doing any work as Duchess, or thinking of a backup plan if getting Ain on her side doesn't work out. Regarding being Duchess, I think its probable that the Duke wasn't planning on having her do any work in the first place. Or else the servants would be coming to her with paperwork and such. Her only job would probably be to plan parties or something. Remember, the setting she's in is not very progressive... and she's a Duke's wife. What is there really for her to do?
(Sorry this was so long, but it annoyed me that no one was looking at this from her pov, there were only complaints.)
I already know this story is going to be fire!
I loved ring my bell (and I always secretly wished it would go R18). Don't get me wrong, I love a good wholesome yuri. But I've been waiting for something like this for a while, so I'm psyched.
Literally on my mind rn;
