That ending was a total cop out.
It would've been fine if Deku had just become a teacher - not the best ending, and not that realistic, but sure, I can see how he fits that role and how it would allow him to continue being a "hero", at least to his students. So, thematically, makes sense! I can get behind it!
But now, at the very last beat, there's suddenly a new *suit?* I know there have been may other suits and stuff but this just undermines the whole theme of Deku losing his quirk(s) and turning into a teacher (and yadda yadda). If Horikoshi wanted him to be a hero by the end of the manga, he could've just never stopped being one if you want the fact he is now quirkless to make sense, then you should've *leave* him like that! It's the same thing as when author's kill off a character just to bring them back: what was the point, then?
I admit I would've liked to just see Deku live out his dream of being a hero, sure, but him becoming a teacher was also an ending I could get behind. *This* ending, however, the one we got, feels like it half asses both possibilities.
One for all, All for one, All for nothing
but in all seriousness tho, i agree, i feel like they could've done a lot more with the ending to make it not feel....like such a dump on izuku, like the fact that they wrapped it up with him basically getting an ironman suit?, like....
thats just my opinion tho
This whole fucking thing is messed up fr bro. People will read stuff like this and be like "oh the seme's so cute, poor seme..." yadda, yadda, yadda... but do you realize how out of his own mind Aku is??? Suu laid it down thick and CONSISTENTLY turned him down. The fact Aku stayed and even STALKED him too is creepy af man... Suu was like "no i won't date you" and Aku really said "yeah, don't care :) I'll show up wherever you are. you can't hide from me:)"
Seriously how does anyone see this as romantic... Suu was based to tell Aku straight up that he just switched over his dependency onto Suu. 'Cuz that's what happened. He was right and he shouldn't have to apologize for that.
But alas, in the end Suu was just as deranged to find Aku's behavior cute and fall for him too... but oh well at least they're made for each other (either that or stockholme gonna come knocking). Terrible people irl tho.
Not saying Chiaki and Hina aren't culprits as well, after all they DID bully the mc... but him using the fact his friend was r4p3d as motivation to torture those two just makes no sense to me. Bro says he's playing the long game but overall just mostly glosses over the fact Azusa got attacked like that; he saw the guy who did it, went "aye that's probably the one who assaulted her", then moved on with his life like I usually like revenge stories but this is NOT it chief...
Not much he could do in the overall situation, he can't fight, being blackmail, and his CHF got raped. His end game before the demon showed up was a one off that wouldn't have gotten him the satisfaction or closure for this situation. It isn't ideal but what could he do if the demon didn't show up with a better plan to get revenge.
I know he doesn't really have the power to do much else in terms of revenge, but he could at least try to help his friends? My main issue is that he just mostly glosses over the fact she was abused like that. He says that what he's doing is for her sake or for avenging her but he's just so... calm, yk? Like he's more worried about the revenge itself than about Azusa, so it just seems like he's using it as a way to get back at his bullies because they were his bullies, not for someone else's sake.
Stuck between wishing this manga focuses more on Atami and his passing crushes (rather than giving him a bf), but also wishing that someone would love him back too...
I want that person to be Adachi so bad
