The dubcon is hard to just ignore but honestly? Considering how it is practically a staple to yaoi (as in, specifically BL manga) it’s not all that bad. The incubus is kind of inconsiderate but even from the first volume he doesn’t seem entirely unreasonable. Though, for some reason, from when he first discovers about Yagi, he just turns into more of a douche??? I understand how jealousy became practically a trope in romance stories, and it’s a plot ploint in almost anything under the sun at this point... But damn, the author really did not hold back. Our guy is already on kind of thin ice from the beginning and the jealousy does Not help his case; it falls into a weird gap of "oh, well, he IS a demon" and "yeah the author really jumped the guns here".

I just hope things get solved soon enough... The hints at how he might be tired of life itself at this point, or the thing with someone trying to exorcise him before, seem like interesting plot points to watch unravel. Like, the fact he says “he still has something that Yusa needs to do for him” maybe means he *does* want Yusa to kill him (if the thing about being tired of living for so long is on the table), and he ended up getting mad over the fact that Yusa might have “plotted” with Yagi rather than being vulnerable with Yusa knowing his name. Since Yusa has that magic prowess and all, our incubus guy might have gone for him *because* of how that could help in exorcising him...
And then fell in love and got jealous, yadda yadda. We know how it goes.

So all things considered I understand the hate on our incubus guy, but I think I’ve been kind of desensitised to toxic yaoi,,,, and I know at the end of the day the author is probably planning for them to be all lovey dovey (to some extent) with eachother so honestly I just wish we could get to that faster

This manga had the formula for greatness but the story was just a glorified "throwing shit around to see what sticks" and One good plot point (Enra's backstory). Everything seemed like they could become interesting aspects but they get so underdeveloped that the lack of substance makes the initial concept seem worthless – the mirror, the Enma/Yama scroll, most of Enra's siblings, the ""evil aura"", sinners that worked in hell, the never-seen-again temporary (???) Hell which seemed to purify souls and was deigned not fit for the test, even if they ended up purifying the souls anyway... well. There was so much. And none of them really go anywhere. I can see how some things might have been necessarily rushed (the ending honestly smells of axed manga), but even early on the author seems keen on keeping things ambiguos – probably for some great finale that never happened – and that is very, very bad writing. Whether purposefully leaving everything to be explained and solved at the end or simply not ever planning on explaining things, it was just a bad choice on the author's part. But oh well. The character interactions and dynamics were interesting enough to keep me going for 17 chapters (although they lacked the depth needed if this was ever intended to be longer), so there's that.

I really can't say I'm dissatisfied or disappointed with the ending too – which I see a lot of people complain about. I think the involvement of a third party (trying to keep myself spoiler-free here) in Komachi's story was not really a problem, it's the execution and what exactly she did that really stands out as... unbelievably anticlimactic. Especially since that's supposed to be worse than a *bio terrorist planning mass genocide.* Like, be so fr
Even then, the manga falls off on a lot of aspects so this doesn't feel especially disappointing to me. I just feel bummed I won't see the true potential of this concept :/

They're both cute, tbh, but the way this guy constantly talks about how "he doesn't want other men around her" is hitting my PTSD of past relationships... that's a yikes right there. Even more so than his lying ass imo

Also everyone is troubled about him slandering their marriage in the past (ch10), but honestly? It's probably more of the same old trope of "we didn't hear everything" or didn't know his circumstances at the moment. I don't think it's a nice thing for him to have ever said, regardless of his reasons, buttt I do know this is a romance manga so that's probably where the story is headed. I'll see if I can read the novel and see what was up with that lol

I was kind of iffy about the fact Kuro looked like a kid for the most part, but then ended up paired with Zeno... but then he held her in her fox form and tbh I'm not even sure if that's weirder. It was a great story overall, so this is easily something I can overlook tho

Well in the manga it was mentioned she turned into a grown woman at night, but ig make sense since she always looks so cute and precious. But i like to think she actually likes Zeno quite a bunch and she was the one who initiated the relationship (like she's the one who goes looking for Zeno when Tia is sleeping) , plus they are boths spirits so age and like human form doesn't matter to em ( according to their logic if we think about it)

I'm kinda mad they axed this because all we got to wee was them at 6/7 years old. I always find it annoying when they extend the "kid stage" of reincarnation mangas/manhwas/etc, because child characters other than the MC always end up following along with the "child speaking with the eloquence of an adult"... and in the end, this manga only ever managed to do that. So I kind of understand how this was axed, as sad as it is what might work for a novel – spanning a long time of early years – doesn't translate directly to manga, so yeah... I'm sad to see this happen, but not that surprised.

I usually hate pushy and posh characters like the prince, but honestly? I'm kind of finding him really funny. He's oblivious to a comical degree, I just can't take him seriously... he's still a terrible person, ofc, but I can appreciate his role in this story as being the butt of the joke.
Same goes for Rosalind. Her first proper appearance, giving Sharina that big-ass, one-sided speach... she was so full of herself she didn't even notice people weren't listening to her that level of delulu really brings tears to my eyes (as I laugh really hard) this is amazing

I've looked around and found out enough about the LN to the point I understand the plot and ending (seeing as the last, 3rd volume of the LN still has no official english release), and while I'm excited for the manga to reach that conclusion, I'm sad the scan updates have stopped Seven Seas has only released vol 1 so far, and vol 2 seems to be set for November still :(

Basically, the current story and events end in a loop. The FL and ML go on about their business being cute and all, but their death is unavoidable. This time, however, ML is the one to find the FL (he goes back to search for her because it's storming outside and he remembers she hates storms) already dead. The same thing that happened to the FL happens to him; he tries to rescue her, finds she's cold to the touch and already dead, then he himself passes out and dies -- only to find himself back at square one, with the memories of this life that just ended. So, now, he's in the same predicment that FL was in. He grows up, goes to the academy, finds her again... and discovers she has no memories, and thus, acts very differently towards him. The relationship between the two of them goes about as you'd expect -- the ML is now the one in love, while the FL is not (since she doesn't know him yet), so this time the script is flipped and he goes after her. IIRC, since he "wakes up" before the time spent in the academy, he makes sure to get the FL's family to stand out more between nobility so that there's not many complaints when they marry.
Anyways... all in all, as the story progresses this time, we learn a lot more than we did when following the FL. The plot reveals itself to be a time loop -- but one that has been going on for far longer than we can initially think, and one that doesn't involve only the ML and FL. This happens because of a curse related to the Dragon Tree; in the first time the characters are living their lives (i.e before the loop turns into a loop), some kids end up destroying a branch of the tree, and try to get rid of it by burning it in the fireplace of the fated room they seem to die at. It's unclear which main lead dies first in their first time and the exact order that follows of who remembers and stuff -- but we also learn this curse does not only affect them, but Miguel as well. This is because the curse is aimed at lovers, intending to make them prove themselves (not clear *how* they're supposed to do that), and thus a friend of said lovers gets brought along to act as their "judge". As such, Miguel never once lost his memories; he simply sees his life reset again when ML or FL die. Miguel says he's tried intervening in different ways before, but when he tries to do something, ML and FL end up dying even earlier -- so he just stops trying. He has no clue on how to stop the curse, so he just hopes ML and FL figure it out themselves. He's in a really tragic predicament tbh.
By the end, they seem to get a happy ending though. I'm not exactly sure what they do to get out of the curse, but in the "current" run of the loop -- the one where the ML remembers, right after our first story told by the FL -- a lot of "side" stories, like that of Yana and Azraq, get solved, and then the curse is lifted too. Usual happy ending stuff, ML and FL are happy together and then seemingly marry and have a daughter. A little strange bit, though, is there is a moment kind of like "Renesmee and Jacob", where in the last chapter thei daughter of ML and FL seems to be ""in love with Miguel"", as he takes care of her sometimes (as a close friend of her parents, he's kind of like her uncle). I don't think it's a weird thing where it's taken seriously, and is rather just a cute little childish infantuation. But oh well! Everyone gets their piece of a good ending so I'm happy...

    Now...

Currently the Light Novel has 3 volumes and is said to be finished (ANiList and other such sites count it as finished), but I've heard people say there is a 4rth volume coming. The ending I talked about is related to the Web Novel (and it's 200 chapters) -- and I'm not entirely sure if the 3rd volume of the Light Novel contains this ending or if it cuts off and leaves the story to be finished with a fourth one. Maybe the Light Novel version gets cut short into a "bitterseet" ending where the curse isn't lifted, I'm not sure. I can't get my hands on that volume yet so this is all speculation.
