There’s a part in the novel where it states he doesn’t show much emotions to save energy. Him being weak is a defect because he is a mutant. All mutants in this story (Major Lee, Major yang and Major Kwak are mutants) have something they are obsessed with, that’s why he’s obsessed with rocks. It’s a part of the “defect”

hi, i just i’d to seek clarification by what you mean when you say mutant. and where is this information revealed in the manhwa/novel. does them being mutants have anything to do with the adam virus or they’d still be considered mutants even in a world without the adam virus. what defining characteristic makes someone a mutant i.e what does rainbow city and those in charge consider a ‘defect? thanks :) if the explanation has spoilers, i don’t mind. you can still share it with me

okay so I think it's revealed in the manhwa that mutants are basically people born with enhanced abilities in order to combat the adam virus (evoution type sh), it's why kwak suhwan and the others are so strong. BUT it will be revealed later in the novel that (SPOILERS)






They aren't born, they're made. The city worked with researchers in order to edit the DNA of infants in order to create superhumans like the immortal regiment and Dr.seok. They all have an obsessive trait. For Dr.seok, his brains is enhanced but his body is ruined, thats why he's so weak. And for Major Lee and Major Yang it's their strength, not just strength but other biological parts such as their bone density. Dr.seok's bsessive trait is rocks. For major yang it's trains if you recall and for Major lee it's food (as revealed in the novel side stories). All mutants, come with defects (except kwak suhwan). Obsessive traits are also considered defects.
