I think it was a joint collab; several creators got together to make a short 3-6 chapter series for the theme of the apartment building. They all end with the same concept, "I've spent x amount of time with you, and now I can't let you leave me"
It's just another one of them group collab series, use to be super common to see back in the day. Creators just tend to see if they can push their skills to create for the theme and turn out good. Don't blame the author, I'm sure it's not their typical story type. Seen one in the Gwaggong that was so out of one of the creator's type that it was interesting to see they could spin something that way.
