This is the first manga ever released with a transgender mc. Ppl have different opinions on this but I genuinely loved this manga. It's so tragic but it makes sense bc it has a historical setting where being trans is seen as a mental disorder. The manga is written from the mc's therapist's pov and he's a pretty understanding guy. I think it's so well written. If ur open minded enough to handle that people were very conservative at the time, u should give it a try

I forgot to recommend this too. The mc isn't trans but there is a trans male side character. The story revolves around a group of friends and all of them are members of the lgbt community. It includes gay, lesbian, transgender, gender fluid, unlabelled characters and also characters who are confused with their identity. U get to know all of their backstories and the whole manga is so good. I feel like this is the one I should've recommended first bc this is probably the one that's easiest to digest and almost everyone loves it
