tae-eun first: communication skills were non-existent. i think he’s too much of a people pleaser and perhaps low self-esteem, which is why he never fought back with yi-hyun on his exhibitions or actually expressed himself. that was his only fault though, the EXTREMELY poor communication

and let me add, even in the last chapter after all their apologies and whatwhat, when they’re talking about yi-hyun’s words on the show and he gets all flustered and says to tae-eun “you already know how i feel about you” THATS THE PROBLEM URGH. EVEN IF YOU THINK HE KNOWS, YOU STILL NEED TO TELL HIM. and i think that’s yet another reason why tae-eun never pushed back and was just a yes man in their relationship.

the entire pacing of the story was off. from hyeon suddenly falling in love with ian, to their separation and finally them getting back together was all whack. it could’ve definitely been paced out well within the thirty chapter limit, but the smut was prioritised (which is also evident in the side stories). i personally think this is a unique concept and ive only come across two other bls with the fashion designer trope, so it was quite disappointing to see this, which had so much potential from ian’s background and his success to hyeon getting into fashion himself, absolutely fall flat for the sake of sex
i did think they were both really cute crackheads and i love the artsyle as well as the characters palettes. however one thing that really stuck with me is how hyeon called his dying mother an obstacle. that was so crazy to me bc wtf

i liked the plot somewhat though, like all of that backstabbing by mingyu really had me on edge but it was so drawn out and mingyu flipflopping between sangjo and taesoo was going on forever and annoying. and like for fifty chapters we didn’t have much going on, then suddenly everything needs to be packed into the last ten chapters. and i thought geon was cute too, but he was just fucking stupid
and then sangjo gets locked up for we don’t know how many years, then he comes back at the end and they have the most weird reunion? we don’t even get to see them as a proper couple with all of their secrets out, it’s incredibly disappointing for a story whose plot had sm potential. the execution was incredibly poor. ALSO GIWOO IS STUDYING TO BECOME A POLICE OFFICER BUT HES OKAY WITH DATING A THUG HELLO? and his judgment is absolutely shit, he literally trusts anyone how is my child gonna survive now that he’s actually an officer (him slipping on the romance after getting shoved doesn’t help his case either)
what a bullshit ass ending. the majority of the story was so slow and going in circles at one point, then it decides to actually pick up right at the end and then end it abruptly altogether? mc was harsh for no reason too and the ml was too overbearing. not to mention it was never revealed to the mc what happened those two years ago and we didn’t even get a single chapter of them actually together. got some poorly done, dramatic ending and a half-assed confessed. very frustrating read, don’t waste your time
