Well, it's old yaoi. Most of the old yaoi mangas have no or little plot. Even if they do, they are very shallow and all are rapey.
I would say mix. Many old yaoi also have amazing storylines.
I felt the same. The art is fantastic, but the stories are less than meh. I've ready plenty old yaoi with good plots.
