idk if there's a korean term but this trope is called 追妻火葬场 aka "wife chasing" in Chinese and it's super popular. It's basically the same thing every single time: top is scummy and treats the bottom like crap until the latter has had enough, then the "chasing" arc happens where the top repents and suffers until he is taken back.
People clown this for being too similar to BJ Alex but the fun is partly in knowing roughly what's gonna happen next, but not the exact details. Like we already know there's going to be a chasing arc but what will be the catalyst? How will jaekyung realize his feelings? We already know dan will (probably) take jaekyung back but how will it happen? How will jaekyung convince him? It's kind of like when you're a fan of enemies to lovers and you already roughly know what's gonna happen but eat it up anyway.
If Mingwa goes the route of shuiqiancheng (Chinese author who writes a ton of wife chasing BL) then I'm not complaining. Especially if she gets better and better at it.
(Also it's hilarious to see comments complaining about how Mingwa is "recycling" the same story as if they were duped into paying for it or something.
