I really did simpathised for Kuroda. At the last chapters, I kept wishing for someone to appear and save him. It didn't happen.

the later chapters made me kinda feel bad for him
I felt bad for the kid version of him. But his parents didn't rape him or beat him or starve him or sell him to Yakuza (like we see in other manga where they suffer horribly as children). He was emotionally neglected.
The adult him, I had a tiny bit of pity--he after all lost his chance at love with Tooru, though he treated Tooru like a toy at first, which was nasty, cuz Tooru is very sweet, patient and gentle --but he saw a child with its mother dying on the street and did NOTHING. He just ran and dragged Tooru after him. Then without contact--apology, letter, anything--he abandoned Tooru to that horrible situaion (hey, if someone had spotted them Tooru would be an accomplice to thta hit-run).
How you can see a crying child with their bloody mother and run away not giving a shit, well, you're on my You Are Crap list. Then you abandon your love, and think you have the righ tot revenge just cause you're sick/dying? Yeah, naw. That's the point where you should get your soul in order and get ready to die. Go apologize. Leave money to the kid whose life you scrwed up. Something. He still only thought bout himself.
In the end, he's worse than his parents. At least his dad helped him ou tof a jam. His mother didn't torture him like some sadist. But he acts like a thug to the end.
So, yeah, lemme see a one-shot where he's really repentant and apologizes and shows he'snot utter narcissistic crap.
Hey, it doesn't mean that because a kid wasn't raped, sold to yakuza and/or whatnots that he/she isn't as affected as them. People handle things differently. Besides, as a child whose mentality wasn't fully developed yet, that would've seriously affected him.
He didn't know what to do that time. No. Most of the time. He didn't know what to do since he wasn't taught how to handle situations like that. He was taught/trained (in a sense of the word) to follow the orders/wants of his parents.
His mentality isn't well-developed. He is mentally unstable.
He couldn't give a shit about seeing Katsuya and his dying mother, probably: 1) because he was scared (Tooru wasn't as scared as him because Tooru wasn't the one driving -usually when you (accidentally) kill someone, your instinct is to protect yourself -simply because -_-); 2) and because he doesn't know shit about losing a loved one, or even having a parent.
Um, no? He doesn't know that he's dying yet when he started hating Tooru. He couldn't understand what he was feeling so he just made it out as what he has been taught to feel -to hate.
In a sense, yes, he's worse than his parents. But that because bad things (usually) gives birth to worse things.
But, yeha, we need another extra where he finally apologizes for everything he's done (and another extra where Tooru finally confesses :P).

I got a little disappointed, to say the least the first story had so much potential to be developed... Maybe the author thought it would be better this way, but I felt some rush there.
Like, the first uke was traumatized for gods sake. He got over it too quickly and even walked along with the one who abused him.

I think it's the mangakas way of expressing how the seme is so much more important than what happened in the past. I mean... the seme clearly knew there was a trauma and he did make sure the other guy knew it. And because the seme was so understanding the ukethe uke was spared having to explain.
I hope not! That would just piss me of, that's not how traumas work. If it's a "love heals all mental problems" twist it's just lousy. And sad. That's a really toxic myth to be reproducing. （￣へ￣）
The idea is great, but in reality not so much - but I gather that some take the reproduction a bit more seriously than it should be taken (rape culture vs rape fantasy, for example). Instead of taking it out on the work, educate the people who read it. Just as you would tell young people that sex in porn does not equate to sex irl.
Ah, but I do agree with the original commenter that the he got over the trauma so simply, maybe not easily, but really fast all the same.

I do agree that the story finished so soon. There should have been more but I don't think he got over the trauma that fast. I think he is only like that to Doujima but since the manga was over already it was not shown how he was later on with other people. I think he will get over that trauma gradually. It just happened that there is no more to explore that side of the story. The mangaka probably thinks it's already enough to show that he is starting to recover from it.
