Um at this point I've given up on uke lol. He's being infuriatingly stupid, it's like watching the dumbest and most unsympathetic person walk into the classic "if you love me you'll be a prostitute and make me money" scam. And there's no possible redemption arc for this seme ok. The fuck is this story?
Lol I actually support the two of them being together now. The characters are actually human and make human mistakes. I get that people are hating on Lauren for being an incommunicative ass but he had his mom's bs weighing on him this whole time. And I get why he wasn't really sharing his feelings because
1. Chip has already come out even though he had to cut off his fam, but Lauren is probably not okay with cutting off his mom so he would have to deal with the rejection constantly if he came out. It's easy for people around him to say, oh just ignore her or cut her off, but it's not that easy when the other person is your only family. Maybe in a way he felt like Chip was braver than him
2. With certain situations only you can truly understand how you will have to deal with the situation after taking into account your own personality and the situation at hand. Lauren knows that he will have to deal with his mom and process his own emotions and guess what, he's not obliged to share his feelings with his S.O. or some therapist if he wants to process his emotions on his own terms.
What I'm saying is, people irl make mistakes, they're selfish and uncommunicative at times but it's all about how the person grows from those experiences. Now that Lauren has processed his side of things maybe they can work through their problems, so I'm actually looking forward to them finding themselves after the breakup and getting back together.
Tldr: basically I like that the characters are not perfect and kind of reflect real life bc let's face it, life isn't a fluffy romance manga
Tsk. Don't be a weak bitch and take the guy's crap. Call the cops on him, say you have reasonable doubt that he's holding your sister against her will. Both of you can verify that. Don't tell me you're actually gonna go to his place -_-
I think that he think that calling the cop will not help the situation because it seems like the guy is rich and he can bribe people in the police department to not get caught or he knows that the guy is crazy and if he call the police may actually hurts his sister. I understand that you should call the cops but the cop in Asian are not really that trustworthy or reliable compare to the one like in America/Europe.
So I read the novel and I'm super disappointed. I loved how the story started and how heart wrenching it was, but it kind of turned into a drag, with the author not taking the multiple chances to end the story and stretching it out to be some torture fest for the seme. Which, don't get me wrong, was super satisfying for me because the seme was such a douchebag, but there comes a point where it's just overdone and tiring.
In the novel, the uke finally packed his bags and left for his (and seme's) hometown. The doctor chased after him, and insisted on staying and looking after the uke. The uke never really came to love the doctor, but he was grateful and full of guilt that he can never return the doctor's love. The seme went crazy trying to find the uke and developed a heart problem. When he finally found the uke, the doctor refused to let him see uke and uke didn't do anything either. This is where the story started going downhill. The author seemed really self indulgent in how they seemed more interested in torturing the seme as much as possible and for as long as possible rather than developing an ending that was fitting, for all their personalities. The doctor was in love with the uke for no reason at all, and seemed to exist as a roadblock more than anything. And because he refused to let the seme see uke before his death, and uke was the type to not fight these things, uke eventually passed away in loneliness and sadness. And yes, the seme was shite to him the few years before this, but neither were given a chance to reconcile because of the doctor, and the seme was doing everything in his power to see uke and make it up to him. The doctor also didn't inform the seme of uke's death until an entire week later, and told seme what uke allegedly said before he died, which was that the uke never wanted to see the seme again, neither in life nor in death. Absolute asshat move on doc's part. We never find out if uke actually said that or not, but seme was tortured by it. He became an alcoholic, seeking memories of uke in his dreams, refused to accept the reality that uke was dead and gone, waited for uke to come home every night, self-harmed, and with his friends' intervention, went on a trip around the world. But he would forever feel tortured and never find solace in anything.
Like I said, the author sort of went on a trip torturing the seme as much as possible, and it went on for way too long (honestly it felt like 3/5 of the book went to describing how tortured the seme felt). There were a lot of points where the uke could have avoided a lot of pain and problems if he had just spoken up instead of expecting the seme to understand everything and act accordingly (hello, he's not a mind reader), and while the seme definitely made many unforgivable mistakes, the author makes it seem like every single issue between them was the seme's fault. Overall the book was overdramatic and overindulgent on the author's part. Which is super disappointing since it had such a promising start.
Someone else posted it but here it is

Here, between chapters 66 and 67:

This novel is "kinda" a sequel about another couple Li Zekun and Cheng Xia, who also appeared in this novel.
in the novel im pretty sure when the seme was persistenly asking to see the uke, even though the doctor was opposed to him seeing the uke again, the doctor asked the uke if he wanted to see the seme since he knows the uke still loves the seme but all the uke says is 'why should i see him?' and even the doctor was surprised by his answer
and im pretty sure the doctor ( to which the author says only the doctor knows if these words are truly by the uke or his own last cruel act toward the seme) says that the uke's last words to the seme were to live a happy and fulfilling life.
i found the doctor a wonderfully sweet person throughout the novel o.o
OMG this comment friggingly funny. laughed so hard. This is the best way to torture the person who hurt you. Write a novel, make villain's name the same, make him a very bad man so that everyone hates him, torture him so bad and then make him kill himself in the story. This way nobody get hurts in real life and you get the most satisfaction. You are too funny.
[During the time the seme goes to the doctors home where he and the uke are staying and wants to see the uke"Do you want to see him? I dont care". Ai Ziyu (the doctor) knows that He Zhishu loves Jian Xenxu and he also knows that if He Zhishu is soft, knowing that if he met the man it may not be back again. However, he still respects He Zhishu's own choices....He Zhishu seems to be very surprised and asks "why should I see him?". He Zhishy now clearly remembers the day he decided to go. He looked up from Jian Wnxu fromt eh upstairs, he just wanted to look at Jian Wenxu's face, but the man has not looked back. Since Jian Wenxu did not let him do so, he would not ley Jian Wenxu look at it even now" (ch.63)
And when the doctor tells the seme the uke's (supposed) last words to him: "[He Zhishu] said he wants you to live well. He doesnt want to see you when he lives. He doesnt want to meet you when he dies". (ch.81)
-personally i feel the bigger impact (assuming this was uke's actual last words) was from the fact that despite what the seme did to the uke the uke still had the heart to wish him a good life. I mean the uke has every right to be resentful tworads the seme but he isnt. He's just done with the seme. He doesnt see a need to see him once more in life or death which I think is growth in for the uke because he's finally willing to set him self free of the seme. But even if these were the actually doctor's words to the seme, saying the uke wishes the seme well at all is still a solid reminder of the kind, genuine person the seme inflicted such pain to during his life and even at his last moments enough to even think of him.
Sorry if it's a bit much but I really couldn't see the doctor get bad mouthed. If theres any reason for the doctor to fall for the uke, isnt it more like why wouldnt he?! The uke is a kind and wonderful person himself. The doctor could see that in how devoted he was to someone who was barely thinking about him, how earnest he was in handling the whole situation, and how gracefully he carried out his circumstances despite being in a crumbling relationship and his health failing.
On the point saying that the uke could have avoided all this pain by saying something, well the seme shouldnt have been cheating in the first place. How could you go from confessing your love in such a sweet manner to telling him if he wants to sleep outside he can. Sure things can happen but ultimately this was the seme taking the uke's love for him for granted. Personally I feel like it wasnt till towards the end of the story, the seme sees he didnt just mess up his own life but the uke's as well. A huge portion of the the seme trying to get the uke back is just him wanting the uke back for his own self satisfaction and self pitying. Though I do agree the author really did overkill with the seme's emotional and physical torture at the end it was fitting for someone who spent a good portion of his life thinking of mainly of himself and ends up spending the rest of it thinking of someone else.
The uke has many reasons to not want to see the seme anymore. First, he clearly loves the seme and probably doesn't want the seme to see him in that state. Second, he's been suffering for so long from the negligence, the cheating and the illness and coming to accept it. That doesn't mean he is open to more pain and suffering from the seme. Seeing the dude is a huge risk. He's too weak and ill at that point for it and I think he just want to die in peace.
seriously, same. I really love reading those type of story but its draining so much of my energy. being myself a really emotionnal and empathic person, I'm attired to those story even if its making emotionnally instable. lol. I also try to avoid all type of story that has too much angst because its aggraving my anxiety...
Idiot, do you not see how he treats his ex? And how his ex is haggard and falling apart and STILL working for seme? Should at least find out if it's his ex's choice or seme's contract yeah?
