But blond doesnt like how tyrant the emperor is since the recent assassination attempt against his own brother's son bc other nobles don't approve the tyrant and wanted the duke to be emperor. Ch 8 ahh, even tho blond doesnt care there is a female knight, but the kingdom doesn't like women who can do magic as they r seen as witches. In the past the kingdom was divided and the women mages forced the kingdom to split as they made their own kingdom. So main can still be a knight but can't disclose her gender now after she showed off her magic. Blond warns her to not show her gender now bc of her magic shown. He was going to let her be introduced as female but not now bc of her magic abilities
Ch 5 recap, mains parents lost their investment with a merchant whose ship sank. They r about to be broke but main was willing to marry a rich noble to help, but her parents refused. Mains other option is joining the knight order what pays well. When she was out on a ball to find a proper marriage partner that wasn't the ugly rich merchant, she was drunk and kissed a guy mutually. But they remembered and the blond guy is the commander of the knights. He's very stern according to mains friend, but he did recognize main and they both agreed to not mention the kiss as it was inappropriate. But he does value her skills and asked why she's dressed as a man bc her skills speaks for itself and will permit her into his order as a female knight. And he did hear from mains reason to join and agreed as professional colleagues
