In the beginning of chapter 7 she made this 'wise' decision which had to be explained by the lady taking care of her to make it sound even wiser. Why would she first of all get all the experience to confidently say all that which makes her 'perfect to be a queen'?
She never really involved herself in all those noble parties since she was broke so how would she get that perfect knowledge on how to deal with the nobles? Cuz she was studying with the lady taking care of her? Even if that's the answer she was only learning about manners for a MONTH and if thats all the time she had to learn it then its impossible to assume 'she will be perfect to be a queen'
A queen cant only have a good personality but she would need to know to deal with things too and it seems like the author only wants to make it seem like she has that in chapter 7 by making her make a great decision and calling her perfect.
It seems like im super salty but the shoujo logic in this manga is destroying my insides. ╥﹏╥

(๑•ㅂ•)و✧I believe she can since she has been helping her brothers run their fief. The manga is short so we don't have her entire back story but being a noble she has to have some education. At least to the point where her parents were alive. Also not just because you are poor automatically means that you are dumb or to be taken likely. Some of the smartest people I know are those who come from a shabby back ground. In most of the mangas I've read you don't just become queen you have to take classes for it because the classes you get as a noble women aren't necessarily Sufficient. Most noble women learn embroidery, how to act in social gathering, a recreational skill, history and basic math for accounting that way when they are the lady of the house they can manage the books to pay their workers and get stuff for house etc.
Also please keep in mind that most of the candidates are kids or really young. The king is like 29 and mostly nobles with an agenda where the first to thrust their daughter at the king. So there are a lot of immature and unqualified ladies.
As for him being unfair he states his reasons why. Can you imagine what it must feel like having all that responsibility and still having to make time to date people you don't even wanna date or have the least bit interest in? It's like being single, employeed with a ridiculously taxing job and having all your elderly family member setting you up on blind dates. Would you be happy like that? ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍Being exhausted but having to put up a facade and entertain people your noisy family thrust on you? It's not in my culture to accept arrange marriage or love interest so I personally would hate it and bitch at every opportunity I get to a friend.
He doesn't want to marry someone who doesn't wanna be queen he just fell for someone who had a pure heart from all those leeches. The fact of the matter is the guy is the king the highest position possible and most of the ladies in waiting only want to be queen to boost their ego or are simply infatuated with his outer appearance. She was the only one who seriously consider people and their feelings. She's humble and he fell for that. Forgive him for wanting a decent human being or someone who sees him as a person and not as a ladder for personal gain. (Speaking about the bad apples we've seen so far)
Keep in mind people the author wrote this to be comedic and fluffy. It's not a historical manga and it's not based of facts it's thrown together to be silly but cute. If this was a Korean/Chinese romance manga I'd be bashing the sbit out of it right now and finding fault with everything since they tend to over romanticize rape and abusive relationship.... But it's Japanese and it makes my lil heart go doki doki so just wanted to share my views. Also I prefer supporting a super cringy/fluffy manga than the crap the Koreans and Chinese be writing half the time... but I do read them when I'm super super super bored.

I really liked it when they were in high school at the beginning but then he moved out slept around (i get why he did it and it doesn't really bother me that much but there's still part of me that dislikes it no matter what) and when the met again they changed. Yes its a realistic manga but I just dont like how much the main guy changed. I'm just so disappointed that it didn't stay as a high school setting
I'm dropping this for now. Maybe I will look at it again in the future when it's completed

i've tried so many times to read this and keep dropping it. I feel the same way. Something about they relationship beyond the confines of their adolescence, just does not interest me. Maybe because of their respective personalities while realistic, feels more likes a love sprung from codependency more than anything else.

I'm on chapter 85 and in my opinion the author just came up with the 'bad boy' out of nowhere. Ian never really showed any signs of doing anything bad related outside of school either. He went and worked for the girl but he wasn't acting any differently outside.
It's kind of meh cuz it suddenly changes your whole perspective of him even tho its 80 chapters in. He's cuteness was about him being innocent but not really just a bit of a dumbass. Now he's a 'pretending to be good' in school and 'bad boy' outside

I really liked the manga at first and still like it but there's one thing that is a bit meh for me. The girl doesn't know the king at all but she's reacting to him and thinking of him as if she really likes him but the thing is she didn't even have at least 5 proper conversations with him. I liked her character and the kings first impression was really good too (decided to wait out with getting a wife cuz he had a bit of a problem there)
My opinion is it would be much better if they made the development much slower and she actually got to know him or something

I agree with you that they need to get to know each other better. However I don't think it's that bad. I think rn she is just interested in him. Kind off like when you get a light crush or interest in someone and they kind off stuck to ur mind and u wanna see them again. It's not that you are madly in love with them, but more like wanting to know more about the person. At least that's what I got from it. But if they were to start dating rn, I would think they are going too fast as well.

i think he “fell in love with her” because she acts differently than other noble ladies and maybe she “fell in live with him” because he treated her gently
and in my opinion she is not suitable to be queen maybe a consort but not someone suitable for governing
but its funny why don’t the kings/princes marry princesses from other countries to form alliance why is it only noble women

Depending on the power of the country and their traditions they might not need to. If it’s powerful country they may be able to form alliance in other ways like trade. And traditionally it might be important to many to a noble family with in the county to prevent strong fractions from forming and the strengthen ties with the other ruling classes. Technically, I think, the MC is part of a family that over sees a part of the country, it’s just a poor part.

Some people are very intuitive and fall in love faster than what others would consider normal/reasonable pace. Second I think for now they are not madly in-love just feel connected and romantically attracted. Nothing to say on the political accuracy of the thing I try to not care about this kind of things as they tend to highlight the parts of society that trigger me.

Would give 5/5 but the girls character was bland. She was just there so Asuka could have someone to love. All her character ever did was say(not outloud ofc) 'im manly so im perfect for otomen' 'im manly so i cant sew but its ok otomen can do it for me'. When there was a chapter about her I thought 'oh maybe i will finally get to know her' but she was still without any personality.
Asuka's best friend had more character to him and at the ending chapters the girl didnt even realize that there was something wrong with Asuka until it was too late neither did she helped him out first in the situation cuz it was Juta who stepped in
Still there was no drama about their relationship but more about people around them and friendship. I give it 4/5 cuz i loved asuka and juta

You guys can dislike all you want but i think that none of the characters are actually likable. Like i felt nothing for the main guy when it came to his sad backstory and the girl is a bit weird but nothing special too. It wouldve been better if it was presented in another way cuz if the character isnt likable in the first chapters hes not gonna be likable later

It’s the first chapters tho.. the reason we’re addicted to falling in love with characters is because it’s rare, as it is when we chose to pick flowers amongst the common blossoms, knowing well enough that they can be just as pleasing. by that same definition, should you discard a mild story though it shows originality and potential?

Like i wrote those were the first chapters and if the writer is really good then he may make the characters really great later on but in the beginning theyre not interesting at all. Youre telling 'we chose to pick flowers amongst the common blossoms' but they arent like blossoms to me just some leaves.
I may give it a chance but the start wasnt good at all to me. And we fall in love with characters that are rare but the characters could be rare and not boring. Even if the story is original and has potential if its badly executed making it boring and not making me able to be into it its all useless in the end.
the beginning was so good!! i love how she conquered everything and everyone who thought she was still a brat from the past life but i feel like it kind of turned a little borish at the end, when linden immediately started to act so carefree and loving towards her as if they've been dating for forever after she said she loved him back??
that man was supposed to be unsure how to love someone after his mother and sister death right?? it didn't seem like it at all LOL
later on it was just him acting all loving and cliche while elise blushed as if she wasnt like 60 years old (?) mentally,, why did she have no game whatsoever, wish she acted more like a milf
