There shouldn’t be team joowon or team taku, just team ‘heeso get your shit together’
Ok so for those saying he loves joowon and not taku, you’re right and wrong: he loves both, he’s at a crossroads now.
The old love he has with joowon , no matter how toxic, is still there and can’t be erased unless a stronger relationship is built, you might say that he is deceiving himself to forget joowon and that since he loves him to go back to him fully but you guys forget that love sometimes isn’t enough and not all love is expressed the same way, the way that joowon expresses his love to heeso is very bad, and it has been clearly portrayed throughout the story : if the issue was just with their parents it wouldn’t be like that, the issue comes from them , they’re just not for each other with their current personalities, both heeso And joowon, since in the beginning what made their personalities so horrible was their love hat they twisted till adulthood.
As for taku, he clearly loves heeso and knows about his relationship with joowon and how much it affects him, love wise and personally, so he’s taking it slow and probably will be very understanding and patient towards heeso since he knows how to act with him, personally I think he’s a better choice than joowon since all we’ve seen from him are the bad aspects of a relationship (which I think the author is doing deliberately, since taku is the complete opposite)
Also dont blame taku on not telling heeso, what would he say ‘im trying to woo you and make u forget a toxic relationship by falling in love with me but also I’m gonna leave you soon??’ So that what? He would be misunderstood by heeso in a very sensitive time ( like now) and lose all that trust he built up with him, he was going to tell him but all in the right time, taku also has his own personal life which is not gonna stop or change drastically because of heeso in his life , it’s his career and edUcation, he doesn’t really have that much of an opinion in them, but he can make heeso understand that he’ll stay in contact and be with him as much as he could , maybe work in Korea or heeso would move to japan with him? WHO KNOWS

Is in ch 58! ....heeso is tired and a mess.....TAKU is there only to take advantage of him because he wants heeso be his property even if is fake and a forced relationship “for now”.........but is wrong this is not love is obsession....-.he should say to heeso if he really had feeling for him that he would wait for him or that if he want talk he is there to keep him company.....not ask him to say he loves him even if is fake....TOXIC

AMEN TO THIS. You said it well! Though I wouldn't say that Taku's in love with Heesooo now, I think that he does seriously like him a lot the point that he's bothering to have dinner with the stepsiblings and have the confrontation with the difficult Joowon. It's quite sad though, that both Joowon and Heesoo ledt without saying anything definite, leaving Taku and us hanging.
The ball's really in Heesoo's court now, and I do hope that this time around, he gets brave enough to say what he wants. Love how this manhwa has so many layers.

The way Joowon express his love to Haesoo is bad but Haesoo express his love in good way? Oh man it's getting boring.
That’s not what I meant , I meant that the author doesn’t show us heesoa and joowon in lovey-dovey situations ( even as memories) and always shows their relationship as tense and controlling : which are bad aspects of any relationship,
While with Taku, he is the one wooing heeso and doing an effort for him and comforting him, which are the good aspects in a relationship, so the story till now can’t be properly understood since the author is still biased in her portrayal, I’m pretty sure taku has a dark side that is yet to be seen and heeso respectively also has a good Side, only when the full image of the two relationships are shown can we really decide who is better

I literally did not understand a word from this, please rephrase it in better english or in another way?? But I’ll try to explain what I understood:
When you said taku was taking advantage of heeso’s weakness in chapter 58 and sleeping with him, it’s your own opinion and you are entitled to it, not everybody acts the same way or comforts the same way, not everybody is a saint: he didn’t force him, nor did he trick him , heeso was in need of comfort and he willingly went to taku since he felt that taku will be there for him and will take care of him and taku understood his actions very well- he knows he’s not just a one-night stand for heeso to feel better out of desperation, instead heeso didn’t go to a stranger but ran to him and hinted at him that He wants this, and that he finds most comfort in taku and that aLone is a form of love, which both heeso and taku are aware of in that time.
This is their ‘style’ or convictions in life on how To act in relationships and not everybody is ‘talk now, sex later’ some people ( like those in the story) find immediate comfort in sex, and in this situation it isn’t toxic since there are many things accompanying it

Guys, ok most yaois start with rape and such , but that still doesn’t mean its ok for those saying fujoshis are ‘biased’ please dont group everybody, since some ppl really do hate the rape trend ( such as me) and their comment condemning Rape in manga is found in any manga with rape not just here. But the idea is that here the rape is so appalling, not just that he was raped once and could escape but NO, he was raped once and when he sought the only person he could go to ( the scholar) he was denied and had to willingly ( i press on this) and with no other option to return to the rapist and suffer rape without even being able to complain about his injustice: all for the scholar and his livelihood. Also guys don’t go around shaming the painter, he very apparently loves the scholar, and a person in love is usually blind to anything unpleasant about their loved one, also the scholar is not so much of an asshole if you think about it, we’re only saying this bcz we see the full image, but his actions towards the painter till now have not exceeded the norm and he did him no injustice yet, he’s just rational and unattached, just because he isn’t a loving caring nanny doesn’t mean he’s an asshole. One more thing: confessing rape for the victim is a really arduous thing, that's why he couldn’t tell the scholar when he was asked about ‘if the lord did that to him as well’ , what do you expect him to say?
