The flashback to kanchan confessing his feelings in high-school killed me especially knowing that the abuse only got worse after this. Jesus this shit is heavy. It's unfortunate that he felt so stuck he thought the only way to feel better was to beat his partner. You can tell what he really wanted was some control over something, anything.
