this is insane but i love it. also goddamn mamoru is a ride or die. i wonder if hes going so far because hes trying to make up for the fact that he (inadvertently) killed sachios dad? as much as i just want them to be happy i cant see this ending well...
He probably wants to make up for that yes, but I also feel like he’s going this far because he cares for Sachio. He doesn’t want Sachio to get killed so he’s willing to do anything.
1. Main couple got the least development. I dont get how we're supposed to root for PeachLove when we havent seen any chemistry whatsoever. while i do think theyre cute theyre way too underdeveloped for me to rlly root for
2. Too much filler. At least 20 chapters could be skipped and nothing of value would be lost. The author spent too much time developing this four-gang system only for it to mean nothing in the end. she couldve used this time to actually develop the characters relationships
3. Cherry. I could honestly write an essay on how much I hate him. I hate how he takes the moral high ground as if hes not apart of an actual gang and literally killed someone. its like he was supposed to be love's rival for no reason. Also i dont like CherryKing at all. didnt he say he just needed someone to take a hit for him or smthn??? ill admit cherry made things a bit more interesting, but after awhile i was just sick of him. he would just pop in and out of the story to give his shitty input
4. Black gang. theyre supposedly a big deal but barely anyone knows about them? i assume they represent the yakuza or the like. and i dont care how powerful they are, youre telling me they singlehandedly got rid of the four gang system?? and if it was that easy in the first place why was it built up for so long?
5. What happened to love's weird hobby? its like that was a core component of his personality but it just disappeared halfway through.
Honestly the only thing that made me keep reading was Love, arguably the only interesting character. His story arc actually really resonated with me, esp the backstory. Im still annoyed abt the ending. So much couldve been avoided if peach had just talked to him abt it. i dont want to play the blame game, but they started it by trying to blame love for everything. I also liked Minimi and his mini redemption arc. wish we saw more of him. Honestly i wish we saw more of all the characters (except cherry, fuck that guy). theres a lot i could say about other characters, but honestly i dont care enough about them to. i wouldnt say i regret reading this, but i was hoping for so much more. if there are any more manga like this (high school gangwars X bl) id love to hear about it.
