I didn't watch the anime. So Gintoki in anime is nice?

I agree that Jian Yi would be the seme but not for the same reason. I just feel like Jian Yi can be so dominant and Xixi is a tsundere uke ahahaha and seme Jian Yi is like HOT. But maybe they'll switch

it’s okay to have that preference as a fantasy but it’s pretty obvious zheng xi is the seme tbh. he’s very dominant, stronger, the protector in the relationship. even the author confirmed xi to be seme during the scene where jian yi officially confessed in his room, in hanzi the back of his shirt implies he was a bottom. which btw if you prefer your ships to be that way for that reason then you must hate both couples in this manhua because he tian (who is an obvious seme as well) hits mo a lot more, & way more violently all the time, and does it usually to control him. and like you said, xi does it because jian yi honestly has it coming a couple times for behaving idiotically/recklessly espcially when he nearly puts himself in danger.

also not trying to be rude don’t you find it a little hypocritical to think it’s okay for a uke to hit the seme but not vice versa? if you think it’s bad one way, you should find it just as bad in reverse. just saying. I don’t think it’s fair for it to be okay for only semes to be hit / hurt. just something to think about.

with that said, i don’t think -for this particular specific story- I don’t think that most of the hitting scenes (save for the serious scenes) are to be taken seriously, it’s the author’s way of slapstick comedy. it doesn’t mean xi and he tian don’t dote on their ukes. they clearly very much do. xi grabs jian yi’s hand a lot out of his own initiative, comforts jian yi when he cries, hugs him, kissed his forehead and has protected him like 378483 times; he definitely dotes on him and is 100% devoted to him, he literally thinks about no one else. and he tian cares for mo too. this isn’t some heavy dark manga where a lot of the hitting is to be taken seriously so if you can ignore that then i think you can efficiently enjoy both couples in the manhua with their positions being what they are (semes: xi and he tian, ukes: jian yi and mo).

Well… actually it’s not okay for me to see the seme is being hit by the uke, but I hate it THE MOST when the seme hits the uke
Anyway, it doesn’t consider “hypocritical” at all :D
because the definition of the word hypocritical doesn’t fit here, you can say that I’m biased to ukes, and not hypocritical
