I think there’s more to it than what meets the eye.
Mincheol might be ignoring Haneul because of a one particular incident of the past. In chapter 40, the lady (can’t remember her name) says something about Mincheol being shameless for still being around Haneul. Haneul has a scar on her wrist, which she covers with a wrist band (is that what you call it?). From several chapter before, Mincheol was smiling—watching Haneul, who was peacefully sleeping—that is, until, his eyes landed on the wrist band, then the mood turned dark and gloom. With that in mind, Mincheol might have something to do with that.
Why does Haneul have a scar on her wrist?
Why is Mincheol so afraid of giving in to his desire to be with Haneul?
Why did the lady planted this kind of situation?
From the evidences so far, Mincheol might be (or not) the reason for Haneul's scar. He might not want to be with her because he's afraid the Haneul would get hurt again because of him, or he might've done something that caused Haneul to hurt herself. Either way, the lady definitely knows the reason, and she's probably plotting something.
Again, don't hate Mincheol.
See how his soliloquy is all about him reminding himself that he needs to control his desires? Very demure, very mindful, very gentlemanly.
