I liked the story but the dude was really lucky she liked him so much to give it a go with him again. It helped that he was also more open about his love for her. But omg I can't understand how he would reject going out with her when she wanted to go on dates with him. Maybe it's social anxiety. Going out a lot is draining as an introvert too but agreeing to it sometimes would've been easiest way for him to express that he liked spending time with her. He probably didn't have to do much either since it's all her ideas. Even a simple "me too" to her "I love you" if you have a hard time saying the actual phrase...
