One is the conquerer and one in the one who got conquered.no one's right or wrong here war slaves were always treated that way.But romance between them feels shallow for me.The girl's heart would be too cut up to feel any love towards tha ML.I would swear revenge in my heart if i was in the MC's place no matter how ineffective it might be ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

Typical chinese rebirth manhua.Need i say more? ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

I wonder if good quality Chinese manhua exists out there with proper plot and deep characterization. Or maybe like how they do business as usual, quantity over quality, they apply those in creative works as well. Like how most of their businesses are about imitating and copying products, providing a cheaper version with slight alteration, they only recycle these type of stories over and over again.
I'm sick of the revenge plot too and how dumb most characters are. I mean, is revenge the only value Chinese people care about? And are power and dominance the only quality they appreciate?

It would have been fine if even that was done in a proper way..but it's always 'dare to bully me I'll make u pay'or I'll tale revenge and schwoop.enters the male lead to function as a tool for fmc's revenge.Fmc will be beautiful intelligent and a genius but somehow she will not be able to comprehend how a Male lead is also intelligent. And then starts the push and pull for maybe a 1000 chapters...(╯°Д °)╯╧╧

I like this manhwa..buuuut.why is the mc suddenly showing such a self important attitude.Ian betrayed you?You were never close enough for that... ( ̄へ ̄)

It is more so the kind of betrayal that you thought you somewhat knew that person but in the end they lied to you. They were closer than strangers so a bit of hurt you could spare her, even more so it turned out he used her to his advantage to get more inormation in very subtle ways. That's how I see it, but you are right in a way that she is exaggerating it.

No i get that her trust has shaken.Quite normal in her situation but saying that Ian betrayed her is a bit hypocritical seeing as she never trusted him in the first place, stole from him, reported him to a detective of being involved in something shady. She never made an effort to befriend him and neither did he so how could there be betrayal between them

wasn't he the one that sent her best friend (the chef's helper) off, and didn't even bother to tell her that the person she was desperate to find was safe. I think that is a pretty nasty betrayal.
And as for the reporting to a detective, she did the right thing. The dude WAS shady, he was hiding something, and she was spot on, on finding someone who was not acting normally. In that regard too, he betrayed her. He didn't warn her that sh** was about to go sour, and instead, when she could have potentially saved a life, and assisted him, he instead, even KNOWING she wasn't involved, chose to stay silent. Yes. He betrayed her, and it cost someone her life.

I've observed this a lot in mangas like this... they dumb down the male lead in order to let the female mc shine..i mean he is a famous duke well known throughout the country but he is unable to think simple solutions like what the mc suggests.manga looses its edge for me this way

Yeah, at first it was kind of enjoyable that she could stand up for herself, have clever moments and all, but now... I think for the incident in this chapter, he shouldnt have required her counseling, maybe a small discussion, but not... Seems too pointless that despite being the capable and powerful duke, he cant even think of how to counterattack when powerful people should be atleast able to handle *some* situations himself.

I don't think the duke has necessarily been dumbed down. They are in this thing together so they like to discuss things with each other before doing anything. Plus, she was the one who was kidnapped so he must have wanted to know her opinion first before doing anything. He could've had already thought about it for all we know or he might've had a different solution but decided to follow her plan instead. He could have a different style than the MC, like using his own power and people instead of sneaky tactics. That's not necessarily dumb, just different. Also, the way he was threatening the kidnappers was very effective, saying how he would've preferred to get rid of them instead of using them makes the kidnappers much more willing to cooperate since the sense of danger is bigger, so he's pretty capable.
