I cannot believe people would treat a women who was victim of abuse this way even after reading what she went like. If this is how you react in fiction how would you react in the real world, I wonder.
The father never hit their son while they were together so she probably thought he will never raise his hand against him because he was a male. But the man was not only misogynistic and she hadn't a way to know the future until she saw it and went to confront it. Resulting in that accident.
Never forget laws in Korea exist for the men. Men who abuse women and children don't suffer any type of consequences and I'm sure that hadn't she run, she would have been imprisoned.

Maybe they’re more outspoken in about their feelings in this circumstance because she’s not a real person whose feelings can get hurt, but they’re basically advertising what their real feelings would be towards someone in a situation like this IRL. These people seriously need to work on themselves.
my god ur real ...look i was skeptical of her reasons to not take him with her but after seeing what happened actually, i understand the poor women,the emotional and physical, she was a stay-at-home mom with no income and probably not enough savings for both of them to leave ,as a mother she probably wouldn't want her son to go through hardships of poverty and homelessness, she also believed her husband who abused only her and never touched their son would still be the same even after she left but he shifted his abusive tendencies to inwoo ,and when she came back she saw the condition her son was in , then went to confront her abuser that must've been hard and then he died in front of her and ppl were accusing her of killing him that must've been shocking af and trumatic i don't blame her for leving the country ...idk why ppl are still not able to sympathize with her after this ... this is why i alwys encourage the women around me who are going to get married and evantully have kids to always have a back up plan and an income ,u never know how things would turn out

I'm so happy he was able to confess that and his feelings!!! It cleared the misunderstanding immediately and showed Garam really trusts him. Good for them!!
