A lot of the characters here were messed up and gross. But in defense of the uke: he was not dating the old guy or anyone else for that matter. They were sex friends. That’s it. He never loved him. He had his heart set on his childhood friend and he never once had his feelings waver from that even if he slept around. He owes that old guy nothing and it’s his own fault for letting himself be a 6 year booty call.
Rereading this reminds me of how much I love it. The characters, comedy, and developments are great. The characters are a nice balance. They’re not too pure and goody goody or too twisted.
I’m also glad the toxic part of the fanbase has seemingly quieted down. I don’t miss the arguments and ship wars. It’s still there but not as bad.
I just started reading this and I’m hooked. Both the main characters are likable and they have me smiling and laughing at times. I’m still early in.
Also it’s minor but it’s almost healing the bad feeling that manga/anime Nana left behind. I know it’s small but alternative rock girl x girly girl..it made me think of Nana/Hachi but a younger happier version.
