I went to an anime convention in San Jose once and there was this guy protesting anime right outside the building right in front of the line of attendees. I think he was saying something like anime is the source of corruption in youth, which is some block-headed logic right there. I knew better than to antagonize crazy fanatics like him, so I didn't bother to look at him nor look at the sign he held. I was impressed because most of the fans did the same thing and kept on walking. But I was still upset. As much as I would have loved to give him a piece of mind (╬￣皿￣)凸 I'd probably regret it. Those kinds of people won't change their way of thinking.
Also, I'm surprised that a person who opposes anime so vehemently would use the term 'weaboo'. I mean, it's supposed to be a derogatory term, but it's really used by other anime fans or anime dabblers. It could've been an anime fan's sick idea of amusement.
