I just made a different comment on how I just don't see what Dan seems to see in Jaekyung, because that guy is quite simply an asshole, though I don't even hate chaotic (or as it is overused for most stories: toxic) relationships.
I want to clarify on my view, because I need to get that rant out of my system.

When I say I have no problem with chaotic relationships, then I mean I have a knack for shit like that. In my stories, I like violence and sometimes I like heartwrenching and frustrating drama for a bit, I like mad characters that start becoming more human and toxic relationships that turn either normal or go completely off the rails.
But for that, you need to have some type of character arc, and that arc can't be a straight line. They need to show that they are somewhat invested in the partner at some point or the "normal" partner, usually MC, needs to show his limits of what he's willing to take, in order for the (usually) Seme to wake up to reality.
An example, which also made me mad btw, is "Passion", which is right about now at a part where it tries to show some change in the psychopathic Seme. The Uke ran away, realizing Seme has no feelings inside of him, neither love nor hate, he just treated Uke/MC like a sex toy. But now it's pretty clear that he's attached to him and I allow a twisted character like that specific Seme to need some time to find out about what feelings are, because he really never learned that, somehow.
Not only that, he had shown the whole way that he had some sort of favorability towards MC, though it was more the curiosity of a child with a new toy than normal affection. At least we knew he was sick, everybody fucking called him a sick bastard, so we knew what we were getting into and that made for a different context.
Jaekyung is a whole different beast. He basically bought Dan and never let him recover from it. For example: He already pays him buckets of money, but that was stated in a contract and his work was already what his manager thought he would be doing, if not even more than that, so he could have recovered, by simply being worth the money, even without the shitty Jinx motive for contract beforehand.
But then he singlehandedly paid off his debt to the collectors, which was an unstated amount. The he singlehandedly went and paid months(!) of his grandma's apparently super high hospital bills. But why? Simple: To own him.
But the author fucked this one up, because it takes away the MCs autonomity. it's one thing if he's being helped by the Seme, but now he doesn't pay rent, he likely doesn't contribute to household costs like groceries, yet he still earns all that money. Where does it go? Back to Jaekyung? What's the point in footing a bill he could already pay for with his salary when he still lived alone AND had a debt to pay off?! He could have easily paid with the money he got anyway, but by paying the hospital upfront "for him", all he did was make Dan give the money he just earned back to Jaekyung, instead of sending it to the hospital. Yet he looked "awesome" to the grandma for literally doing nothing at all.
And that is just when assuming he's still paid as he was from the beginning. That wasn't mentioned anymore since the last time money was still important somehow. Technically, if he was capable of paying off the interest that had stacked forever in just two months, as he let on, it wouldn't have taken ages to pay back the main debt the same way, especially after his cost of living basically diminished. It would have been much better for the story to show him work off the debt, then having his grandmother get better through the treatment, so when the time comes and he is debt free, Dan would hot foot out of that calamitous environment.
But nah, at this point, it's just all over the place and he has received so much money, he would be indebted to him for years, especially since we don't have a clear number on what he even has to pay off now. On top of that, Jaekyung doesn't even truly try to be nice, he's just being a dick and Dan is acting like a doormat to him. No, worse than a doormat, Jaekyung treats him like his pet, he owns him and does whatever he wants to him, but Dan thinks it's totally right for him to do so.

EDIT in for clarification on that "owning" part: I literally have no problem with stories in which sex happened with dubious- or non-consent and they somewhat get together, because minds can be different and feelings can change, so if you show me a reason, there's room for suspension of disbelief and I like the psychological aspect that can play into it. Here though, that isn't the case, because it's consensual.
Yes, Dan is thrown around like shit, but he entered this contract on his own, of having sex wherever and whenever Jaekyung wants. Dan knew what was coming for him, he had a taste of it and hated it, yet did it for the money. He took the money and knew how he could earn it. And Jaekyung - I don't even know if the author intended for it to be that way or if that was some ridiculous attempt at some redemption for that pissweed that backfired with its implications - bought him with all the money he spent, making it impossible for him to go. Dan now feels so indebted, that he doesn't even feel bad about it anymore, even when he thinks Jaekyung fucked up or went too far outside of sex, because in his mind, he has the right to. Again, he could go at any time, yet he doesn't, because he's so thankful. I fault his personality for that, not even Jaekyung, because, again, the author robbed Kim Dan of his autonomity here.
Yes, it's a lot of violence, apparently he fucks everyone that way, but that's not rape if he literally could walk out of there, which he could. Even the first time, he could have just gone out. I just saw that on another comment here, so get your facts straight, Dan could have walked out many times. He had debt and needed money, but the first time, Jaekyung was at fault for none of that and didn't even know about that, he simply made him an offer as to not waste time looking for a hook-up in some club.
He offered Dan money for sex and Dan said he would do it. In fact, Jaekyung even threatened Dan with just stopping when he couldn't do it in the beginning, after claiming he had experience. He gave it his all to prep himself and get ready, so Jaekyung wouldn't actually stop and throw him out, because he needed that money. He also came by himself to enter that contract, instead of simply blocking him as Yosep suggested he had already done at this point. So no, there's no rape in here, even if the sex is forceful in a violent sense, it happens as per a contract they have established on even grounds, that Dan could walk out of at any given moment.
This contract may or may not have been made because MC has no money otherwise, but let's face it, that isn't Jaekyung's fault, nor does it mean he has to have sex. Without the contract, he would sit out on the streets either way, because he had to move in the first place, because his house was demolished. If anything, it was an opportunity he couldn't pass up, otherwise, he wouldn't have come back to Jaekyung after having such a hard time during their first sex. Dan also wouldn't have had the money to treat his grandma. He took this contract out of desperation, but that doesn't make it rape when Jaekyung takes him, because that is in fact their contract. He agreed to the sex by taking his money, that's simply how it is.
Saying "he would live out on the streets if not and thus it is rape" is nonsense, because he would have had to do that either way. Fucking Jaekyung simply gave him a chance not to, so don't get it twisted. That also goes for Chapter 39, because Jaekyung didn't drug him, they would have fucked either way, and it apparently truly didn't occur to him. As he's not very caring for people, I kind of believe that. I don't like him because of his attitude, but that makes it actually more in character. It's another red flag for the personality of Jaekyung, but it has nothing to do with rape. There's no malicious intent, it's simply a transaction. Saying it's rape, because he has no choice, means he isn't responsible for his own life. Dan has, as any other person, the responsibility to look out for himself, he has no birth right to get some money for free. If he doesn't get it from Jaekyung, he can find another job - he has to. If he can't do that, he will just have to be homeless and stop treating his grandma. He was offered a job, he took it, now he actually has to do what he's paid for. Saying it's rape would be having your cake and eat it too.
But now that it's like Jaekyung owns Dan, and the latter feels so indebted to him, it's like he can't even get out of it anymore. But instead of thinking about that, he now claims to be in love with him, which is even more confusing, as there's nothing to love about that prick, except for his pretty face maybe. Great?

Anyway, normally, I'd say that even if the relationship is a freakshow, if it works for both of them, no biggie. But this isn't "Working for them", Dan is just acting like a lobotomized golden retriever.

I have already gone back and forth on the "morals" of the fanfiction piece in general but I just want my two cents out now that my thoughts are collected. Does this piece contain rape? Yes it does, several times. Many times Dan is overpowered by brute force alone even when he asked to stop. His grandma was in an emergency at the hospital but he still was forced to have sex which is blatantly rape because he did not want to continue at that time. Aren't they in a contractual relationship when he agreed to provide sex? Yes they are and there is no problem with that ALONE. The problem is the seme abusing that for his own satisfaction without the mental and physical care for his sexual partner. Paying for his services does not mean he is entitled to whatever he wants with his body. That is a straight up human being not a life size sex toy so although he paid, he is still obligated to make sure he is being respectful to the partner. Doesn't matter if they are not dating. Should this fiction be taken seriously? No, because at the end of the day that's all it is. What people read is fine and their own business, I'm obviously reading it too but more so because it's a train wreck I can't look away from but that is just me. If you enjoy it that's fine. At this point in the story, do you think either Jake or Shin are actually in love? For me, I feel like from what we’ve seen so far and based on their personalities, I don’t either is in love with the other (yet!!). I think there are definitely “feelings” present, maybe intrigue, definitely lust, and Jake being possessive over Shin, but I don’t think we’re at the point of love yet. Shin is a little bit harder to read, especially since he was basically forced into this relationship and into Jake’s world (I also think I may need to reread to get a better feel) and he has been going with the flow and continuing to live his regular life but like I said before, there’s definitely something there.
