They might have put him as a guarantor since that’s the norm in Asian countries apparently. Pervy cinnabon is the “let me fix it” type and hyun is the “let’s pretend it doesn’t exist until it comes knocking at my door” type. Since those personality types clash, hyun is struggling and left. Other that that, I’ve got no clue. The whole past debt thing is just an educated guess from the context I could understand.
