So isn't it the second one? I thought haesoo would pick up on the other possible reason for his interest like the coworker said "maybe you saved him when he was younger etc" and start investigating (but she's too dumb as usual) isn't it more likely bcs the ML is really mysterious and obsessed with her from the start. You can't get this obsessed with some random lady on a whim there has to be more in the past.

If a character is stated as ugly/ unattractive or beautiful in the canon source material then they ARE exactly that, it doesn't matter if the artist draws them beautifully or if they are portrayed by a conventionally attractive actor. Fictional universes are different from real life.

When you lack a certain thing that you desperately want, you get really envious of the people who already have it.
