Naho is so relatable like I sympathize with him so much with clinging to one good quality people around you insisted you have bc you are insecure with being amounted to nothing especially with him growing up with kana who's good looking and a few years older , boasting abt being "cute" is his way of coping and thinking they're equal in some way

The parents and kana affirming him about being cute is really nice of them but the effect of that is the reality check hits him harder bc they put his expectations too high

And the monologue abt being fine with being the laughing stock if that will make ppl ok with him is :(
