Ok can I just say, i know that the author is making this scene because I’m guessing in the next chapter yido would come storming or some other romantic scene. But I’m quite annoyed with how the author chooses to do this scene. So sejin is obviously not that dumb so he knew “something” was happening but not what it was exactly? Yeah right. And i feel like he the author could’ve just made sejin more cool instead of a helpless uke by somehow fixing this issue himself properly (well let’s see the next chp).
If we want to think about it from a character pov where sejin had grown up in a psychotic environment where now he chooses to not make a scene than not following this stupidity to the end of the hall bathroom (god, u had so many chances to find a way out sejin, and come on “bad feelings” doesn’t cut it) i suppose it’s possible to rationalized this stupid action (which is what I’m doing right now for the sake of continuing reading this manhwa lmao). But still, feels so forced. Could’ve been better,
There was literally no reason for him to follow this weirdo. The author tries to rationalize it through the thought bubbles but there was literally no environmental pressures. It was just the creep. Nothing stopped him from simply walking away, or using his body hairs as an excuse. Or saying no. I just don’t get it. It’s so silly
There was a reason u just are they smart enough to understand
He fully understood the meaning and intent of following the brother to the bathroom; he knew they passed by 2 bathrooms already, he felt danger to the point of trembling just by the mere presence of the brother since his appearance so yeah why would he still follow the brother?
It all comes down to power, one glaring detail is this party was organized by his fiancé’s family. Since the start, the mc showed eagerness to please his adoptive father to the point of sabotaging his fiance. Why was the mc even engaged to the ml in the first place, because his adoptive father wanted the power of being connected to the organizer of this current party, so wouldn’t it conflict with what the mc has bet his life and body on if he made a scene and ruin that connection. The mc agreed to the marriage knowing full well he was being sold out by his adoptive family, following a dangerous individual to again please his adoptive family is still consistent with what he was from the beginning, nothing changed.
It would pls his adoptive family for him to be harmed or in a compromising position with the brother of his fiancé… first of all, it would behoove you to work on your articulation before trying to be condescending. Second of all, one could EASILY argue following the brother would do the exact opposite of pleasing his adoptive family. His fiancé could see the situation, break off the engagement since it was never even announced, and then a whole new level of shame and ostracizing would come.
The Uke’s behavior in the manga seems to align with pleasing his father and family, not necessarily the family of his fiancé. He in fact betrayed his fiancé to pls his father. You don’t see how it is counter productive to now obey his future brother in law to the tune of potentially being in a very compromising dangerous and embarrassing situation that could completely destroy his engagement, resulting in the foiling of his father’s plan and consequently the collapse of the family business??????
Knowing yaoi manga, unless the uke is saved from the situation by his fiancé or bodyguard, or maybe even saves himself, MY scenario completely aligns with “perpetually tortured uke” yaoi plots, the uke will in fact suffer for his blatant missteps, despite the possible explanations for his behavior. And regardless, even if he is saved, if his father finds out, he will STILL be blamed, so wtf was your point.( ̄へ ̄)
His course of action DOES NOT align with the thought process of “please my father” at all. The uke has showed many times in the manga that though he’d like to please his father, he still has a small sense of self preservation, and can find alternative ways to please his father if he must. THIS, this was one of the times he easily could have avoided harm and maintained appearances. HE HAS A BODYGUARD. A bodyguard who he passed by as he followed this clown to his own doom. Bye.
Honestly, this is my ultimate favorite manga that I've lost count on how many times I reread it and no matter how many times, I've never gotten bored of them.
And when I go to the comment section in 2024, I'm so glad there are people that love this manga just like I do!! and reread it just as much!!
this manga is so underrated honestly, I can't even begin to find another manga I like just as much. The characters have layers into them and the details in the body language, the interactions between characters (not just the uke and seme but with everyone) makes me feel like they're alive! this is also the only manga I find that even bothered with stuff like casual clothes pattern/logo on them. what details!
and honestly, more than anything, I realllyyy wish they make an update of them growing older. This manga is so old that I started reading them in my teen years when I wasn't even the age of the characters there, I kept rereading them again and again until now I'm much older than the character!! (and yet everytime I reread them, cos of the details and me growing up, I feel like it my view on the manga changes, crazy). And now I really wish to see them in their 20s honestlyyyy.
But right now I'm just happy I'm not the only one rereading this and loving this manga the way I do lmao.
