they didn’t want him to know that he was his brothers gilsangcheon (meaning he brings a lot of luck to only his brother only). as in as long as tay is alive, jaeui will continue to have immense luck no matter how far away his brother is. But if tay dies, then his brother’s luck will disappear too. he’s kind of like jaeui’s personal lucky charm.
