I think it's braver to stay than to leave considering he can tell the supernatural beijg must have preference for his friend, like if a supernatural being says "feel free to go home" or smthn, it'd be scarier to stay . But he said he'd stay before kaii said anything. Sure he's scared to move in the first place, but kaii could "leave" and make himself invisible while he leaves or smthn.

It’s not a real ghost. It’s MC’s subconscious, his body’s memories from all those times his friend messed with him whenever he slept over. It seems like his sleep paralysis is a constant thing and the friend deliberately takes him around to watch horror movies or visit haunted houses to scare him into sleeping over so he can take advantage of MC’s sleep paralysis. Now, whenever he’s scared and has sleep paralysis, his sleeping brain is as if conditioned into an aroused state…
