This story and its characters are precious, adorable, and so darn fluffy. I know we are headed for some drama, but man these first 5 chapters feel so warm and satisfying. I really like the name Shishimaru and the nickname Shishi-nii from his younger sibling is far too cute >.< not to mention Shii-chan from Leo. Ahh, my heart can't continue like this!!
I binged this all night, I simply couldn't put it down. It was on my 'plan to read' list for a while now and I decided to read it before bed, and boy was that a mistake lol. But I regret nothing.
The story, the characters, the bromance, the fighting, everything was beyond amazing. I actually cried when the author told us about Gray's backstory. My heart aches and breaks for Gray and Stephen. No webtoon has ever made me cry ever, until now. It's hard to move me, but his story was very moving. The emotions are so raw and candid, and the group of friends that Gray gains makes me so proud and emotional.
This is how you tell a story. And when all of the bullies get their comeuppance, it's the icing on the cake. It's so satisfying, because most of the time, the bullies don't receive a punishment equal to their wrong doings. But not here, they get thrashed hard and then some. It's just enough to where I'm satisfied. Gray is a fu*king beast.
I seriously can't get enough of this. Highly recommended.
edit: I read this on the Line webtoon site. I've been using it for years. It's free, so please, please support the author there if you want more greatness. This story is already underrated. I just wanted to post my thoughts here for others to see ^^
You know the non con trope has always been around in yaoi. I get it, I know some people have their kinks and that's fine. Sometimes, even I can understand the author's intention with the scene and can move forward in the story. However, in this story, there was nothing to like about this.
Lee Kang is a straight as*hole through and through, and Junho doesn't deserve such treatment. He has many sex partners, he gets in the way of Junho's baseball team, he blackmails Junho and to top it off, he's a rapist. I can't help but wonder what the author is trying to accomplish by making such an unlikable male lead. Kang is not endearing, charming, justified, nor redeemable in my book. I don't care how tragic his backstory is. So I won't be reading this any further, and it's a shame, because I really did enjoy the art and Junho.
At the beginning of the story, the premise was promising. There were two individuals who grew up in different family homes coming together as a married couple, and to top it off, they somehow switched bodies. That was the hook and it made people want to know more.
Now, however, the story has slowed down /immensely/ and without much progress between the two leads which makes the plot feel stagnant and, quite frankly, a waste of time.
They have switched bodies a number of times and you would think it would somehow draw them closer, they would have a better understanding of the other, those awkward talks and steel cased barriers would shatter due to the quite bizarre but rather fortunate turn of events. But...no. The story doesn't capitalize on it at all. Looking objectively, the plot actually takes two steps back and it feels as if they are just NOW getting to know one another and that shouldn't be the case after having switched bodies.
The story is beginning to suffer from its turtle pace and mannequin guise characters, that it lacks substance and purpose, every little thing becomes a mountain and the dialogue now trudges along blindly with no direction. Where is the plot even going? Where did it even originate from? From the mundane musings of their daily lives, I had, surprisingly, forgot that they switched bodies at some point because this story feels like a run-of-the-mill aristocratic webtoon unbeknownst of the fantasy tag.
I'm disappointed, extremely so, and I'm not sure whether I want to continue. Shame, really. The potential was there, I hope it can get back on track and very, very soon.
I see I'm not the only one who wasn't fond of the way that Jooin was treated by Yahwi... He kept throwing him here and there, and didn't even treat him gently. Idk sis, this isn't looking cute or sexy at all to me right now.
